I can't wait to watch all the fights and documentaries back from the beginning in order. It hasn't been a straight forward tournament, but there have been many great fights!!
Great tournament - sadly all of the pullouts-..
It's a real pity yeah.
Like they keep saying, it's great that 2 of the originals are in the final. Then if Kessler/Dirrell/Bute gets a crack at the winner...the great fights of the division continue, just not in the confines of the tournament.
I hope he fights him.
Froch's bravado is what I like. I'm a sucker for all that. Which is why I love all the Mexicans.
Calzaghe has that in him as well, which is why I was such a big fan. Bika was one of Joe's hardest fights in my eyes, it was gruelling, and Bika looked stronger at the end.
I'm just like you. Come-forward, dont give a fukk fighters are the bread and butter of the sport. I appreciate skill, but the Durans, Morales, Benns are what bought me to love the sport.
Win or lose to Ward, a Bika fight would be great for his homecoming fight. A great tear-up. But he really wants Kessler it seems. Can't argue with that though. The first was a great fight.
Froch is a smarter fighter then given for, but i always felt that in a Bika fight, he'd want to prove his macho-ness so much in a way that it could land him in trouble. He's much more skilled than Bika, but the Cobra's bravado is not something to ignore. A dangerous fight i've always felt.

did he ever catch ward with the right? i couldn't watch the whole fight as it was really boring after 6
it did seem like ward got a bit buckled by a jab or two from abraham
My old man watches all the Super Six fights. I remember the morning after Ward-Abraham, he said 'I was watching that Dirrell Abraham repeat earlier. That was a good fight'.
I had to explain that he had been watching a new fight, Ward Vs Abraham lol
'Oh yeah...I was wondering why that chap didn't get knocked out at the end.'

He was caught with at least three hard-looking flush left-hooks.
Ward's knees dipped from a least one of them.
Ward is very strong though. You can't KO a guy out like that with one punch I wouldn't think.
What a fight!
Fight being the word.
Ultimately, Froch gets on his jab and wins once he's bored of a tear-up.
I wish they put Bika in the tournament instead of a faded Taylor. I know this is coming from hindsight, but even vs Abe that would have been very interesting.
Love Bika. Most aggressive Super Middle out there.

I would say that Froch is a puncher ever since I saw him take out Magee in the 11th round I think it was with an uppercut. Due to the fact the power in his shots doesn't wane throughout a fight.
But he is not a devastating puncher.
I can't see Ward stopping Froch either though, unless some kind of cut opens up on Froch. I know that looking is not the same as receiving but Ward definitely doesn't look like he has a lot of pop. Let's be honest, all the big boys tend to stop Edison Miranda.
I expect Froch to lose wide with hardly a scratch. Ward is just so contained, he ever gets hit with silly shots, and Froch's most devastating punches ordinarily come up from outside of the line of sight and travel a long way.
Yeah Ward doesn't appear to have anything significant on his shots, but you can tell he's working on that. Froch was hurt by Dirrell, from a shot he didn't see. Who knows what can happen really if you're getting hit from a bunch of sh*t you don't see.
I would almost definitely be inclined to go for the Ward UD route but my spider sense is acting up a bit on this one lol
Abraham done okay early against Ward. And if Ward was at all chinny Abe would have KO'd him.
He caught him big more than once.
Not sure if a punchers' chance is really there for Froch.

Dirrell is not skilled he's a one dimensional fighter run-jab-hold rinse and repeat
Wish we could of seen Bika vs Froch or Kessler that would of been a GREAT fight

Yeah I seriously doubt it. I think if some sort of stoppage were to come it would be from Ward.
Interesting that Taylor was knocked out cold by two Middleweights (Pavlik and Abraham), but Froch at SMW beat Taylor by accumulative shots and fatigue. Taylor was never knocked out in that fight.
Froch has never been or believed to be a one shot knock-out artist. His power is a respected one, that allows him to break his opponents down, which is pretty much how most of his fights have panned.
At the highest level, it has shown his power isn't as affective as many had believed, but every opponent has respected his power enough not to take many chances.
As for Taylor, Abraham is a much heavy hitter than Froch, plus was facing a Taylor that had been stopped in 3 of his last 4 fights (i think)?
And Pavlik faced a Taylor that took more chances, leaving himself very vulnerable, and took much more shots then any other fight i had seen him prior.
The Taylor that faced Froch was more cautious, plus found a rhythm that was working as he boxed great until unfortunately for him, fatigue was overcoming him in the mid-to late rounds in which Froch wa landing more, and coming on much stronger in the last few rounds. Stamina is a Froch strength.
Yeah those 2 were the top tier. Froch-Johnson was good too. Johnson - Green was a pretty good fight also.
And I liked both Dirrell fights. Good, skills based fights, the Abraham one bringing more drama.
All of the Ward fights were dominations.
Dirrell is not skilled he's a one dimensional fighter run-jab-hold rinse and repeat
Wish we could of seen Bika vs Froch or Kessler that would of been a truly GREAT fight. Wish Bika would of started out in the tournament

I had a predictions thread a couple years ago. I don't think anybody correctly picked the first round's results.
At the time, people were split between Taylor and Abraham for that fight.
Froch was supposed to destroy Dirrell (I thought Dirrell would win, still feel he did)
Kessler was a cert to beat Ward (bar a couple on the forum who had Ward)

Turning on Froch v Dirrell now. Gonna watch Ward Abraham and Froch Johnson later.
I've seen Kessler vs Froch like six or seven times and I usaually don't rewatch fights that much. That one was great.
Super (pun intended) excited for the finals.
