Why did the NYSAC doctors let Wolak continue his fight but stopped Margarito?

Me too. I'm sticking with my original points: - Wolak's first fight with Rodríguez was not at MSG. It was NY, but not MSG. It was not a big time bout, certainly not a big time MSG sellout event like Cotto/Margs 2. So there was not that much embarassment for the commission if the sh*t hit the fan in the Wolak/Delvin fight (first fight). - And much more importantly, Wolak was into the fight. Margo was not. Wolak/Rodríguez I was a draw. Cotto/Margo 2 was 9-0 Cotto, or 8-1 if you were generous towards Margo. No need to risk the man's health when he had no chance to win. But commissions are not supposed to treat fighter's safety differently based on their popularity, that's why I'm saying the NYCA seems shady and corrupt. Doctors aren't supposed to score fights. If the man can continue, he can continue. If he can't, he can't but the scoring shouldn't even be in the doctor's mind.

wolak was the A-side so they made sure he had every chance to win. Cotto was the A-side against margarito so they made sure he won. it's pretty simple.

Then why did the NYSAC allow Margarito to fight if they were concerned about his eye? Either Margarito is 100% fit to fight or he's not, there's no in between. Also the competitiveness of the fight is irrelevant because the doctor cited Margarito's closed eye as the ONLY reason why he stopped it. To much money involved, and you know damn right someone got paid for them to pass him and keep the fight one. marg gave someone 5 % cut from his pay day.

Why not stop the fight. But if they let Wolak continue with an eye that looked like a cartoon, why not let Margarito continue with a closed eye that doesn't look THAT bad? I know it wasn't the same doctors but they work for the same commission they have the same guidelines. I don't like the fact that the commission tells its doctors to be more careful in specific fights, they should treat every fighter the same way across the board.

Cotto was slowing, marg was starting to turn it on like he always does in the later rounds, but they stopped it. I don't understand, it should be a fighter and his coach's choice if they want to continue. It's MARG's eye, if he wants to risk it he should be able to. Marg was going to risk that eye for winning the fight but they held him back. Boxing politics, ugh.

I wanna make it clear I'm not arguing the stoppage, I'm one of those who thought the texas doctors and Garcia were a disgrace for letting Margarito go on with a destroyed eye socket so I can't complain about the NYSAC doctors stopping it. wolak was in a close fight and didnt have surgery on his eye months before that fight marg was getting beat up...he didnt win one damn round and he was coming off eye surgery what dont you get??? It doesn't matter how close the fight is, a doctor shouldn't worry about that. If you stop the fight because of the fighter's eye then it should be the only reason so don't bring up the scoring. The surgery didn't stop them from licensing Marg so that means he was fit to fight. A commission should treat every fighter the same way if they're fit to fight.
