Just watched Cotto/Marg II, dissapointed

Trust me buddy, pussy is something that is not missing in my life. I hate and love everyone the same. I have close friends that are Rican. You can quote me on this, if Cotto fights fag Mayweather I'm going to pray Cotto beats him. But he's not going to . Cotto eats as many power punches as he drinks liquor shots when he's not in training camp. Cotto is a very good fighter but stats don't lie. The amount of power punches he takes is always high, and against a precise puncher like Mayweather, he will be shut out. If by some chance Cotto is in the zone that night, at best he wins four rounds. That's it. I can't see Cotto beating Mayweather. See? It's possible to be Puerto Rican AND not believe in Cotto sometimes. :rofl:

you stop a fight when a fighter does not answer the questions correctly you stop a fight when a fighter can no longer protect himself and isnt fighting back that wasnt the case just because Cotto boxed well its not reason to stop the fight I had given Tony rounds 4 and 9 and I think he might have won the 7th round whats crazy is that my score card and I know you disagree all three judges each gave Tony one of those rounds as well in other words in terms of my score card the fight was till there to be won. But I again will be straight this wasnt going to the cards Margarito was making it his fight by the end of the 9th and it was clear Cotto was tired the 10th round will always be a mystery but I do not believe miguel had enough left to do what he was doing earlier in the fight. I believe we would have had a Margarito ending to the fight This^^^^^^^ By the end of the 9th cotto looked like he was about to pass out while tony looked like he was getting ready to kill someone.

You can definitely score 3 rounds for Margarito in this fight. 1 round and it being different rounds means it was a "gimme" round. They gave him the round because he did better than he had been the other rounds. It wasn't because they were so competitive. He did do better in 4 and 5, but he didn't decisively win the round. You could GIVE him a round or two max, but he didn't earn them.

10oz gloves No reyes It's more than just plaster buddy, the entire fight was different for many reasons. Yeah the lack of reyes gloves are what made Margarito unable to hurt Cotto or have him in any real trouble. yeah right.

i gave tony 2 rounds and that's being generous, also gave him the 9th ... although I wished they should have at least given tony one more round, I dont see the fight changing in his favor...

For those who don't have real life experience with either Reyes or Everlast gloves, I'll explain: 8oz. Reyes gloves are the quintessential puncher's glove. Horsehair, very soft foam. These are the infamous ones. 10oz. Reyes gloves are actually softer gloves than most would think, because they're puncher's gloves 'by association.' In other words, they're not nearly as favorable to the puncher as, say, a 10oz. Grant glove. If you'll notice, fighters in the higher weight classes rarely ever wear Reyes gloves. Why? Because they have to wear the 10oz. versions which are actually not very good for a puncher. 10oz. Grant gloves, 10oz. Everlast MX gloves are both more favorable for power to a 10oz. Reyes glove. Also, the Everlast MX glove is the Everlast equivalent of a Reyes glove. It's made with quilted horsehair and foam, just like a Reyes. The only difference is that their 10oz. gloves are more of a punchers glove than a pair of 10oz. Reyes. In the first fight, Cotto and Margarito wore 8oz. Reyes. In this fight, they'll be wearing 10oz. Everlast MX. The MX gloves are more suitable for action than Reyes at 10oz., and therefore Margarito is not being handicapped in any way by having to wear Everlast MX gloves as opposed to Reyes. The point is moot. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could also look at that a different way and make the arguement that he didn't win any round clearly. Yeah but its also very possible to give him three. The people watching it around me gave Marg 2 or 3 rounds. And for the other part of this thread, 10 oz Reyes are not punches gloves. The 8 oz gloves are. Sorry ;)

tony eye wasint that bad.Look at murrays fcking eyes,Both of them where fcked up.Tony still had a good eye to with.Oh well. Had his eye socket not been crushed by Pac, I dont have any doubts that they would have let the fight continue. Given the fact that he had extensive surgery to get the eye repaired and all the hurdles he had to go thru just to get licensed in NY, I think everyone pretty much knew that the fight would be stopped if Cotto made good on his word and attacked the eye till it appeared damaged. Imagine the outcry had Cotto pounded on that eye for 3 more rounds resulting in permanent damage/vision loss/blindness for Margarito. Then we would be hearing......"why wasnt this fight stopped once Marg's eye was swollen shut!!!"

If the 10 oz Reyes gloves are more of a punchers glove, wouldn't Margs eye swell shut that much faster? Do you know what got that eye started swelling? there is a reason they showed 1 replay of that, it was a thumb from the glove, the reyes gloves have the thumbs stitched down alot better you dont get as many thumbs with those gloves the everlast is entirely different design. So I cant say it would have been swelling much faster what I can say is the thumb wouldnt have hit that eye as clean as it did with the everlast glove, and the stitching on the side of the everlast thumb is what started the bleeding. But you do have a point, However the gloves over all feel different each and every one of them, so when you punch with a glove your not used to you feel a bit off set by it, and when you consider the way the padding is different its not going to feel right. But who knows I dont have a straight answer in your question but I do want to point out that it was a thumb that started the eye
