Come one fellas, time to give the guy ALL the credit he deserves.
His last 4 fights, Yonnhy Perez, Vic Darchinyan, and Agebko twice!
I've been watching this kid fight and I'm impressed by his skills, heart and determination. He's fearless. So many people take tune ups after hard fights, not this kid. Balls. Mad respect. :boxing:
Uhh, look more impressive.
Like I said, I think Mares is a good fighter, he's certainly beat good fighters.
But personally, I haven't found his performances in his wins too impressive. Despite winning reasonably clearly.
He did well on Sat but I wasn't that impressed with the performance.
I'm not critisizing him or saying he's not very good. Like I said, he is good. I'm just personally not sold on him, yet. He's still a young fighter.
Moreno on the other hand, despite Mares having the better resume I am more sold on at this moment in time.
Just my opinon.
Moreno is a beast. I think GBP is going to ride Mares and Moreno out until it becomes a HUGE PPV fight. Hope it doesn't become a Gamboa/Juanma deal.
Uhh...what does he have to do in order for you to be sold on him? His past 4 fights have been all quality fighters (all previous champs). Please tell me who's been fighting tougher opposition. I guess people do prefer the ducking bs and building a record on chumps.

Btw, you've probably already gotten feedback on this, but 12/11/11 hasn't happened yet. Unless you're from another country and the day comes before the month.
Just lookin' out for ya homie.
I'm from the UK and we put the day before the month.
But thanks anyway you're the first person to address that.
I didn't see anything special. Pretty average to me.
A person with more killer instinct would have beaten him on that night but Agbeko is too passive. He just decided to leave it to the judges rather than put a hurting on a cut man who at times left his guard down from being bothered by his eye.
It's kinda overkill to say Nonito would beat him. But ya know...
I would agree. But we don't know for a fact. So until it happens we can't conclude it would happen.
I think he's a good fighter and he's certainly beat good fighters.
But, I'm not sold on him yet.
I'd like to see him fight Moreno. That's the fight I want.
But I think he deserves a shot at Donaire at this point. Although, Donaire is moving up.
So him and Moreno will be the two best fighters in the Division. So make it happen GBP!

Anselmo Moreno but that might be too much for him that GBP probably won't make it. Even though it would be easy to make since both are GBP fighters.
I gotcha.
What about donaire? Would that be to much right now?

That'd be a great fight. I think GBP might try and make a Donaire vs Moreno fight soon. I think GBP is saving Mares for other things down the road. They're counting on Mares to be one of their main cash cows. Mares had mad support in Cali on Sat. So I don't think we'd see Donaire vs Mares anytime soon. Although being the way Mares is, he wants the best. So...you never know.
Who can he fight next?
