Cotto was only 2 rounds from TKO lost last night!

I watched the fight twice last night. Cotto fought a lot smarter than in the first fight, but he was fading!!!! Watch the 9th round. He was holding that whole round. Margarito was finally landing punches in bunches. Look at Cotto's expression at the end of that round. He knew he was in for 9 more minutes of HELL!!! Look at Margarito at the end of round 9. He motions to his corner that Cotto is done. Like I said Cotto fought smarter last night, but he was starting to fade. 100% Agreed!

Like I said before. The fight looked the same to me. Cotto backing up and loosing will as it got deeper. Magarito was starting to catch him in the later rounds. Mike Manny Said " Magarito has no respect for Cotto's power" he just walks through it. Except for the eye MAG's face was fine. But that eye was closed after 3 jabs and the outcome could not be the same because mag could not see and he was getting jacked up! Happy for cotto though.

One point here that hasn't been mentioned yet, in the first fight cotto still needed to win rounds in the 2nd half of the fight, which made things way more difficult for him. it was much tighter on the scorecards, in this fight margarito needed the tko, and I agree with the people that say Cotto's energy levels were not as depleted as in the first fight, he also didn't take anywhere near that level of punishment up to the 9th round compared to the first fight. Margarito didn't have the same energy levels that he had at that point in the first fight. This makes a tko highly unlikely from my point of view.

Cotto wasn't just beating him up the first four rounds he was busting him up all night long Marg won one round maybe and Cotto did not look tired or hurt like he did in their first fight. What are you basing that statement on? Cotto's history against Margarito shows something diffrent. It showed that he can not keep that pace for 11 rounds, or did you forget? He ran out of gas then and his a$$ was running out of gas last night. Its impossiable for Cotto to run and throw punches as hard as he could while being pressured by Margarito for 12 rounds. He is not that kind of fighter. It showed in the first fight aswell as the rematch. Also round 9 should have went to Margarito, because he controlled the fight in that round. He had cotto trapped on the ropes and in full retreat mode when ever he could slide out. LMAO! Are you a physic or something? How do you know this? First let me say that I was rooting for Cotto. I wanted Margarito to be punished because I don't like cheaters. The sport of boxing is dangerous enough without cement wraps and PEDS. Cotto boxed very good last night. To bad it only lasted for four rounds. In the fifth round Cotto started flat out running from corner to corner. The pressure from Margarito was pushing the life right out of Cotto. Between Round Six & Seven Cotto was hurt twice by body shots from Margarito's right hook to the body. Cotto had that same look of defeat from that instant on through the rest of the fight. In the last round of the fight Cotto was in full retreat and Margarito was beating him with one eye. Cotto was one round from taking a knee. Hats off to Robert Garcia and Team Cotto for TARGETING THAT DAMAGE EYE. If not for that eye Cotto would have recieved a career ending TKO. Even after the fight Cotto had the look of a beaten man! His face was swollen and riddled with bruises.
