Why do people think its possible to get away with using plaster wraps?

People make mistakes in their jobs and often aren't paying enough attention. Quit being so ****ing naive.

It's one of those things that probably happens so rarely that the officials who inspect the wraps get caught up in the moment of the fight and see the hand wrap inspection as more of a formality than an actual exercise to be taken seriously and performed rigorously every single time... That's a beautiful excuse...for incompetence. Fact is it's not a formality no matter how rarely it happens to ensure the safety of fighters, not when it's a matter of life and death.

For the same reason the feel Nazim went above and beyond his duties to detect them: Ignorance. Mosley's trainer did nothing special, he just did his job. IMHO for someone to successfully load their gloves it would mean 1 of 2 things; either their promoter paid off the commission, the opposing corners representative and damn near any other person in the room, or that all those mentioned people are equally incompetent. Suppose you wrap your left fist with an extra half ounce of lead over the knuckles. To your right fist you add a half ounce of sawdust. After having your gloves laced up, do you think either hand would feel different to someone simply feeling the gloves?

Are you disputing that Margarito attempted to cheat vs Mosley? Not disputing it at all. He attempted cheat against Mosley and got caught, and if he had attempted to cheat against Cotto he would of gotten caught

Look man, I wont tell you what my job is, but just let you know I have seen a lots of cases in court where someone admitted to do sth, even if it wasnt really the case. That is why I see this case differently. With that being said: I am not claiming 100% that Margarito is innocent. So we are now working off the theory that someone other than Capetillo sneaked into Margarito's locker-room and wrapped his hands with the illegal pad before the Mosley fight? Fact illegal pad was found. A) Either Capetillo knew about it and put it in B) Margarito knew about it and slipped it in the wraps C) Both D) Neither one knew it just magically appeared in the wraps when they cut them open. Back to OT.....you asked how someone could possibly get away with putting in a pad. I PROVED how someone DID get away with it (Margarito had 1 hand approved). Yet you still are in denial. Its obvious you didn't create this thread to legitimately ask a question but to merely attempt to make further excuses for disgraced fighter. Yes that is what most people forget. Gloves and wraps are checked after the fight. Or they at least should be, I dont know 100% if this was the case in Marg-Cotto1 I am sure Cotto fans will tell you this is the one fight that they forgot to do it for.

Dude your wrong in so many ways its not even worth pointing out all the ways. The ref's job isn't to make sure the gloves are wrapped legally its the commissions first off. Secondly Cotto didn't have a guy in Margarito's locker to supervise the handwrapping. As evidenced by Nazeem Richardson's testimony they already had one hand wrapped before Richardson entered the room. So obviously Margarito's camp doesn't wait for opponent representative to begin taping. lastly are you truly that idiotic that your arguing Margarito's guilt in the Mosley attempted cheat? Commission had already allowed Margarito to put it in one of his hands before Naseem Richardson came into Margarito's locker room in time to supervise the wrapping of Margarito's second hand. So obviously they were skillful enough to cheat literally right under the gaze of a boxing official who's very job is to make sure that hands are legally wrapped. this pretty much sums it up. end thread

Luis Resto removed padding from his gloves which is more damaging than slipping a plaster laced knuckle pad in your wraps. Plus, Resto literally dip his wraps in plaster which caused it to create a cast. During the post fight celebration, Collins corner shook hands with Resto and felt the less than padded gloves. He was caught red handed.

Agree! I am not protecting Margarito in any way, but I think there is highly possible that someone (DLH) wanted to screw him and his career. And tonights fight isnt any proof to me that Marg cheated in first fight. Cotto just fought more intelegent yesterday and was not hit as many times. One thing people forget is that officials also check the gloves and wraps afet the fight. Also they cut the wraps some one would have notice something after the fight. Yes that is what most people forget. Gloves and wraps are checked after the fight. Or they at least should be, I dont know 100% if this was the case in Marg-Cotto1
