I was not impressed either. Lujan came forward with his fukking hands down and Jones just could not land any hard clean shots. Not consistently at least. All I saw was a bunch of shoe shining by Jones.
a bunch of shoe shining which won him just about every round

I don't know if he's better than Cotto coming up. But, he will give anyone at WW not named Pacquiao/Mayweather a hell of a fight. Hell he might beat all of them not named Pac/Floyd.
The thing with Jones is that it will be hard for him to impress anyone. Because, he doesn't do anything great. But, he does everything well. He's really a complete fighter. But, he just doesn't have any single great attribute.
I agree with this, mostly. if not for any other reason than the fact 147 isn't as deep as it was a few years ago, and the kid is explosive. He has a lot of potential. The fact that he hasn't reached more of it at this point is a little concerning to me. He has all the physical dimensions to be at an advantage over anyone coming up from 40 and most at 47, yet he threw them all out the window and fought a tough fight with Lujan. Credit for getting the needed W at this stage, but I wanted to see him do more last jnight. Mike Jones is no Mark Melligen.

Donaire dominated the fight against tiny Narvaez, doesn't mean he had an impressive showing. At least with Donaire, Narvaez was a defense powerhouse and didn't attack much.
Lujan was there for the taking. Jones lacked creativity, initiative, and intelligence.
He and Donaire won just about every round what more does they have to do?

He did dominate the fight, but he lacks that 'it' factor you saw in guys like Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, on their way up.

lol WTF were you watching he dominated the fight

His fight with Henry Bruseles told me everything I needed to know. He struggled with him, at a weight that benefited him, while Floyd wiped him out at 140 at his best. It's tough to compare Jones to fighters like Floyd, but you get the gist. He should've dominated the undermanned Bruseles.
