Im new at this i love boxing and this forum i keep with cuz its up to date but leyme know what yall think this new trainer did a good job in preparing cotto tonight yall think he stands a chance with the other guys like canelo and kirkland personally i think he wills make them look weak
Cotto finally learned how to clinch on the inside and smother Marg's punches and walk him backwards, stopping momentum. Gr8 tactics.
Ok....killjoy....:p
Yea he boxed good tonight he was patient and i liked how he was pushin margarito around he dominated the whole fight i gave tony 2 rds but other then that it was all cotto what do yall think bout the new trainer and do yall think he. Is gona go to golden boy or do it the floyd way if i was him i would do it myself it would be better so he can work with gb and tr
Margarito is just way too slow now. Cotto was fading as usual but not as much as before since Margarito was like a moving turtle with limited vision. This make Cotto seems...SHARPER.
I like Cotto, but I don't see him beating Canelo the more I think about it (not that it would happen anytime soon). But it'd still be a pretty close fought battle.
Cotto and the fight looked almost identical to the first fight. Cotto, outclassing Margarito with superior boxing.
Difference in this fight was that Margarito's usual arm punches to Cotto's body didn't have the same effect that it had in the first fight. Cotto's endurance was sapped via Margarito's "plaster power" in the first fight.
With no plaster Cotto would've kept boxing for 12 round in the first fight like he did for 9 rounds in this fight.

Yeah, his gameplan for the fight was great. Only issue was when they were in the pocket, Cotto didn't throw anything for some reason and that was the only time he took punishment. For a while it looked like those Margarito uppercuts were about to turn the fight around. But other than that, he moved well never got trapped on the ropes, was much more physical than he was last time (pushing Tony away, wrapping him up) which he wasn't the first time around.
Solid all around performance.
No way! Cotto looked good but this was clearly not the same Margarito from years back. He was even slower, hesitant, etc.
If I was Cotto I'd take a few more money fights and retire he is clearly on the down hill.
The Cotto of old was sharper, quicker, and more athletic.
Not really, the old Cotto was a terror on his opponents ribs and kidneys. He's completely abandoned the body attack and that left hook to the kidney that made him a star.
Still a great all around performance though. He's become more of a boxer and less of a fighter, he's revamped his style since moving up to 154.
U know ur right did u notice margaritos punches didnt have the same power
Tonight then they did the first fight now i guess we know the
