Bret hart was on his last fight in wwe against Shawn michaels in Montreal. Mcmahon screwed bret for real before he jump ship to wcw.The way arum is talking about cotto and margarito gives me a bad feeling and reminds me of that event.
Lol I can't believe this an argument. Pro wrestling is scripted in general but the Montreal screw job absolutely was not and did not play out anything like normally scripted matches even including the last match wrestlers have. That was a business move to screw Bret Hart. I think that's the only op's point.
And to suggest boxing can't be compared to wrestling is ridiculous too. I can compare to boxing to rock em sock em robots if need be. They only need to share one charactistic in common to accomplish that which is a very easy thing to do.
20 years Anniversary next month. I hope they televise the documentary. The screwjob gave birth to the attitude era, and turned McMahon into a great heel.
Only the Montreal screwjob was just a work, I can't believe so many ppl think that was real to this day.
not according to all parties involved. Especially the extremely vocal Hart on the matter.
Dude, it's called the MONTREAL screwjob for a reason lmao, Survivor Series 1997 took place in Montreal, did I miss something?
You're right ...I don't follow that crap at all...just thought I remembered that from Hart's documentary which I watched because there was nothing better on the tube at the time.
Its fake though?
LOL that isn't why its called the montreal screwjob, Bret Hart was getting ready to retire and wanted his last match to be a the winner as champ.
McMahon told him that would happen, in the middle of the fight McMahon changed the set and screwed Bret Hart over knowing it was his last contract fight.
Hart LEGITIMATELY assaulted McMahon backstage after. I still have my tape from that LOL where they showed it (later dvd's etc edit that out).
WWE type wrestling is lame...but just for the record here...that took place in Hart's home town of Calgary...not Montreal.

Anyways, although "Cotto's destiny is in his own hands" as Weebler nicely put it, we know that the sport of Boxing is not above controversy, have ya'll seen the bull**** that has happened this year? Plenty of fights this year been tainted with some form of controversy.
If the fight is close, something is gonna go down. IDK if Arum will play a role, but if he and Cotto's relationship are strained as he puts it, i will not be surprised to see Margarito getting the decision.
i see the comparison. wrestling is fake, sure. they michaels, hart, and mcmahon talked about how it would go before it happened (as they always do it wrestling), hart gets the win. hart walks out and mcmahon goes up to shawn michaels and basically goes, "fcuk what i told him, youre going to win the fight." quick bell and michaels gets the win. he even wrote about it in his book(insert joke here) about how he felt like a jackass for taking advantage of it. so yes, wrestling it fake, but it was a straight up screwjob about who would win.
Believe it or not it was real
lemme guess, it's still real to you :)
Cotto's destiny is in his own hands
did you compare boxing to wrestling?
Floyd's last fight was straight out of the WWE, hit the guy when the ref isn't looking and have the good guy counted out by a cheap shot, all that was missing was Ellerbe running in with a chair

It's obviously beyond my understanding... It was fake...... What happened in the ring was fake. I just don't understand how that's comparable. Arum can't make anyone lose a certain way.
Why not? Stranger things have happened in boxing...
And OP yes, I remember the Montreal Screwjob very well
Its fake though?
Bret Hart knocked out Vince when he got to the locker room. That shi* was real.
To the OP, i agree that Arum's crooked ass could screw Miguel. Although i got a feeling it wont get to the scorecards. Margo is getting stopped.
