Looking at Cotto's trainer profile, he's a profound experience amateuer boxing trainer. Which focuses on technique(olimpic style) rather than " Brawling". perfect match for Cotto, he just need it somebody who could understand his technique and most importantly his character. Cotto will severely hurt Margarito, the fight will end " referee stoppage 4th round", Cotto will unload and try to prove to skeptics about his punching power, technique has been resolve with the addition of a real trainer not a " Past his prime well advetise trainer in stewart. Thats my take.
I dunno u can see SOME similarities between Solis and Cotto, patient stalker types
I guess you do have a point, I mean both do tend to have some extensive tactics in the Knee department
No way this fight lasts 4 rounds, either from one side or the other. IF it goes by stoppage it will be TKO and in the late rounds. I got Cotto UD or TKO 10-11
Ive heard he works with Solis who is good technically but what i actually meant was his training methods, the recoding and logging of every detail as seen on 24/7, the new stuff he has Miguel trying....
Like i said though if Cotto isnt in good condition and has a poor plan then Fukk em! But so far i like what im seeing and hearing
I honestly believe it was a huge mistake to let Steward go, call me crazy but Steward is proven in big fights he is also proven in rematchs, well not the Cintron one obviously.
The new methods listen its always good to switch up the routine in there I agree with Miguel a small change can make a world of difference. However what I am saying is this fight Cottos biggest adjustment will have to be his mindset.
He is walking to the ring tonight knowing how he left the ring last time he fought this man, and I like I said there has to be a point if it hasnt already entered his mind in which he says to himself what if I am wrong? what if he really did beat me?
I really think he needed to have a much more experienced trainer going in to this specific fight, maybe I am not giving his new trainer much credit, its kind of hard to when he is such and un known.
But I think the style and game plan that steward would have drawn up for Margarito would have helped Cotto if anything not repeat the same mistakes as the last time out...
I dont know man good luck Team Cotto heres to another great fight :boxing:
I really like this new trainer. He came off as a real good person in the 24/7. I'm just not convinced he's a good fit for Cotto. The Cuban amateur style is basically putting up a high guard and catching all the punches thrown at you on your arms ala Erislandy Lara. Cotto can't do that against Margarito, he'll get Clottey'd.
Cotto better use the same strategy he used in the first fight but this time he should not go for the KO and clinch ALOT.

Not to be an ass this is a real question which fights have you seen his methods at work?

Im feeling the cuban... He has impressed me with his methods and seems a great match for Miguel, i think its gonna be a great partnership
Only time will tell though - if Cotto comes in with a good game plan and is fit for 12 hard rounds then props to his man

cotto work on the mistakes that he made the first fight. In the first fight cotto did not give margarito angles. When ever he backed up he went straight back. Cotto outboxed margarito for the first six rounds. His speed was helping him win the fight until the sixth round. I think he learned from his mistakes and will capitalize. He will win big this time
Miguel i Love but his power isnt carrying through the weight classes like a Pacquaio, he can crack but he's not a puncher like Kirland and JMW.
Tony took his best before he can do it again and if Manny Pacquaio's thunder bolts didnt deter him Cotto wont either so im banking on Miguel boxing him silly or bashing his face up to the point an already nervous commision have the fight stopped
Cotto - Late TKO or UD
