Margarito said he couldn't tell if he had something illegal in his handwraps, but then he said that he knows for sure that he has never used illegal handwraps. One way he could find out is
Take a lie detector test.
I know the advocate stated that it is 95% accurate.
What is your take?
Don't be so clever. What he meant, very obviously that he personally,as far as he was concerned, never entertained any idea of having illegal wraps. And, how the hell would he ever know abyway. If you had read the original legal description of the item found in the wraps you would have read that it wasa single gauze strip, slightly hardened in places, as if it had been in water and dried, and completely wrapped around by the NEW gauze which makes the knuckle pad. So it would have been invisible, and weighed nothing, because it was just a thin gauze strip weighed no more than a fraction of an ounce, as well as being wrapped in the NEW gauze which is used for the wrappings.
That was why Margarito was found by the Commission to have known nothing about the used pad, but he was penalised because he was "the head of the team". So they gave him the lightest penalty allowable under their rules.
It seems the pre made pad was made by the trainer, for no reason that any sane person can think of. Nobody knows what he expected it to do, because as it was, the pad was harmless to anybody. The theory is that because Margarito came to camp 50 lbs overweight, the trainer tried to give him an advantage, because not only was he killed making weight, but the camp scales were later found to be nearly 2 lbs light, making it all so much worse. Margarito weighed in at 145.5 hoping he was just going to make 147.
Who knows? I don't, and certainly you don't either.
That's a lot of assumptions.
The explanation requiring the fewest assumptions is most likely to be correct.
margarito cheated knowingly, willingly and got caught. He has been stumped and caught in his own lies since. The end.
That's when Kellerman stumped him..lol

That's Rashad Holloway. It's pretty stupid, though. In one article, he claims Margarito hurt his eye real bad one time in sparring, that it felt like a bag of rocks or whatever but in another article he claims Pacquiao hit him the hardest he's ever been hit. Pacquiao must be loading up, too. :pat:
Rashad is full of ****, if that really happend Roach would have had some sort of medical proof to add to the Hype of 24-7 Margarito vs Pacquiao
Money to be made? involving Margarito?
Now wait a minute...be FAIR. There is a lot of money on the table because of the following:
a-) Miguel Cotto sells PPV's
b-) Miguel Cotto in MSG=big turnout crowds
c-) Miguel Cotto vs. the FIRST GUY to beat him...by TKO...and he's MEXICAN
d-) And I'm sure nothing more casual Mexican fans (and others as well) would love more than to see Margarito do a repeat of the first
There is money to be made.
But objectively speaking, it'd bother me to find out that the sole reason why NYSAC accepted the fight was because of the money on the table and the scrutiny they'd face from fans if they said, "No...we have denied Margarito his license in NY."
Let's hope, for the sake of integrity within the NYSAC and boxing, that Margarito IS fit to fight and that Arum didn't "influence" them.
ok everyone, here is the fact.
1.) he got busted for trying to use something in the Mosley fight
2.) He is guilty of that and should have been banned trom boxing
3.) No one will ever know if he used it for all his other fights
FACT IS, boxing and athletic commissions and sanctioning bodies do not care about this fact and have allowed him to continue fighting.
1.) not because they feel they dont have enough evidence
2.) Not because they believe he is saying the truth
IMHO: MARGARITO SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO FIGHT
1.) First, because he commited the worst violation in the sport(knowing or not)
2.) sencond, He is medically unfit to box
FACT IS..... there is money to be made.....

Exerpt from an article on SI dot COM from writer – Chris Mannix
According to sources close to the process, the NYSAC has been under enormous pressure in the last 24 hours to approve Margarito. Cotto-Margarito means big business in New York. Tickets for the Dec. 3 show were more than 90 percent sold. The influx of cash from ticket sales, concessions and revenue generated by businesses around the Garden would be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not more. Not to mention that the impact of the NBA lockout has already caused the Garden and the surrounding businesses a lot of money. Since Thursday night, sources say, representatives from the city, state and MSG have lobbied the commission to push the license through.
The pressure put the commission in a precarious position. Politics was suddenly a major factor. Their doctors believe Margarito should not be licensed, that his cataract injury puts him at risk for greater, possibly permanent, damage. So they compromised, essentially saying that if an independent, NYSAC-approved doctor clears you, so will we.
Regarding the Mosley fight I think he is tellin the truth, He got caught before his gloves were on meaning he never got to do any pad work with them so its very likely he didnt know and a inspector signed off on it, I mean once I get that stamp of approval why should I think somethings wrong with it?
in regards to him using this his entire career I call bull****, your not going to tell me this man can win a couple world titles have nearly 40 fights and not get caught doing this....
especially when he has fought antonio Diaz, Paul Williams,Joshua Clottey, Kermit Cintron (Fight 2) Daniel Santos (Fight 2 in Puerto Rico)
The reason I pointed those fighters out is because in Diaz, Williams, Clottey and the 2nd Cintron fight you have highly experienced corners who would have noticed something and do you really think the Commission in Puerto Rico is going to allow Tony to use something against Santos while fighting in PR

dude is, was, and always has been.............................a lying cheat.
He can be sure because the commission watched him get his hands wrapped, someone from Cotto's camp watched him, the ref feels both fighters gloves in the ring. Unless all those people are lying to its IMPOSSIBLE to get away with plaster or what ever people claim he used
The commission also watched his hands getting wrapped against Mosley and noticed nothing until Naazim pointed it out.
I believe Margs knows what was going on, he's simply sticking with a story that he thinks gives him a way out, even though Kellerman killed that theory.

refs touching gloves and all that doesnt matter the wraps harden over the course of the first 5 or 6 rounds. and as emanuel stated the comission doesnt pay attention half the time. Remember it was nazzim who caught them not the comission
Question is if Captiello said he picked the wrong wraps whats plaster doing there anyway. And why it have the same red stain as Margs wraps in the Cotto fight in same spot? Dye my ass lol
Wasnt there stories of Marg using plaster even in SPARRING!? Im sure there was a sparring partner who was injured (cant remember who) that claimed so

If he never knew he had loaded wraps vs Mosley how can he be so sure he never had them on his whole career?
