Why did Margarito get beat the way he did by Shane Mosley? He came off a huge win vs Cotto and i expected him to come out fired up and compete better than he did. Just wanted to know yoir thoughts?

Mosley clinched, worked the body, and the whole locker room scandel took Tony's mind off the fight. I would also say perhaps Tony overlooked him as he probably felt Mosley was shot and wouldn't put much of a fight.QUOTE] i don't think margarito could ever beat mosley but i do remember margarito saying that mosley didn't deserve a 50/50 split because mosley had not done anything lately and as far as distractions i can remember shane going thru a divorce around the time of the margarito fight so you could arguablly say that shane was not at his best mentally around the time of that fight

Mosley went to the body and hurt Tony to the body withing 30 seconds of the fight. He also tied Margarito up whenever they got to the ropes to disrupt Tony's rhythm. Two things that Cotto never did.

Body shots were also a part, Shane was not intimidated and put Marg on the back foot with his strength and assertiveness.

You think cotto will clinch this saturday? Judging from the workout videos I've seen? No. His trainer is teaching him clean, textbook boxing (throw combinations and move) but Cotto doesn't have the speed and stamina to pull it off. doubt it, he will go out like a man Has nothing to do with being a man, it's about being smart.
