i think Pac needs to dig deep & show his desire to beat Floyd if the fight pushes thru
it's one of his traits that made him what he is now, and probably the one thing that will bring his A game coming to the fight
Pac's hunger has been in the decline for some time now, and i can't blame him coz he already achieved what every boxer has possibly dreamed of
his mind is mostly pre-occupied with everything he's right now whether it's politics or business or whatever
for him, fighting Floyd whether he wins or lose really doesn't make his boxing "mission statement" satisfied, in my opinion it's going to be his swan song in order to give way for his political career
thoughts?
Why does he have to do anything? He's already the champion. If you're the challenger like Marquez was in the fight, you don't even win in a draw. The challenger is the one expected to do something.
See this has always been the standard for Pac for a long time now. He beats all these fighters and he is still expected to always be the one chasing his opponents as if he is the challenger. He has to always prove himself. Not Marquez, or any of his opponents.

I wasnt talking about who should or was doing more, whether it was robbery or draw etc........all I am saying is that I have noticed that Pacquiao has underperformed, its not typical for him doing nothing as long as he is not attacked, not in his nature.
Agree, will is def not enough. But I am not judging Pac based on his last performance. If you look at Marquez3 fight once again and forget JMM even being in the ring, just observe Pac the whole time.......I mean there are a few rounds that he acctually does NOTHING!! for a whole minute or so. Now I know he has had problems with JMM before, that is clear. But we all know he is more a fighter that a boxer. He goes in to war in the ring. Its his mentality. So watching him doing nothing for half of the round....I was like WTF is going on? My oppinion is, he was def underperforming.
Not to mention this whole "i have problems with counterpuncher" BS.....I mean even if he has, why the **** would Roach explain his fighters weakness just before his fight with best counterpuncher in WW right now? Theres got to be some intention behind it.Why does he have to do anything? He's already the champion. If you're the challenger like Marquez was in the fight, you don't even win in a draw. Pacquiao still has the fire, he just needs a certain type of opponent to help him look good in the process.
When Mayweather - Pacquiao happens, you'll see Manny with some serious fire in the early going only to fade off once he realizes he can't do what he normally does with other fighters.
Having the will to win doesn't mean he will win. Based on both fighter's last performance alone tells the tale. Floyd had an easier time dealing with a southpaw with speed and power than Pacquiao did with a conventional boxer/counter puncher. Floyd's best attribute is his mind. He's a smart fighter with a high skill level. Manny's relentless but he leaves himself open to be used against himself. Let's get this fight on so we can put all the talk to bed.

Dont worry, he will bring that fire for Mayweather fight. He allready said "If that fight ever happens, I will fight like there is no tomrrow". I dont expect him to show mercy like he did in Mosley fight. And Marquez3......oh only hardcore Flomos can believe this was the best he is capable of.
With that being said.....there is no doubt in my mind that Pac will beat Floyd, and I mean convincingly. I dont see any greatness in Floyd at 147. He was great at 130, 135 though.
Pac gets tired of having to chase every fighter cuz their running like a lil b*tch
Thats why the floyd fight won't live up to all the hype because floyd will run like he was getting chases by a pack of dogs and Pac will look at the ref telling him "he doesn't want to fight anymore" like he did against Cotto and Marg
Floyd doesn't run, he boxes intelligently and Pac will be pressed hard to bring his A game if he wants to win
a half-hearted Pac will never beat Floyd, there i said it

i agree in a way
its a well known fact that pac let mosley off the hook
against marquez, pac didnt even look like he cared, i think he got bored of fighting marquez in the middle, and his mind was obviously elsewhere...freddie roach reminded him sometime around the 7th or 8th round that he had to pick it up and he proceeded to sweep the rest of the fight and win by a large margin
fact is he beat marquez by a big margin, and he wasnt even trying for a large portion of the fight
you dont know what a fact is do you... what a load of ****e you have just wrote
Ooh so getting desperate when you are losing a fight is willpower?
Pac has to bully his opponents through and through to not get frustrated, which he gets extremely easy even before the JMM 3 fight.
That is one of the reasons he has the inability to adapt midfight.
im not really refering just the JMM fight, i think it started since he made Arum his personal jesus
and Bob, the sucker he is, always trying to get every better deal he can get using Pac's status as leverage thus all the catchweights and prolonged negotiations with Floyd
Pac lost his fire. Instead of going out guns blazing the last few rounds in the Marquez fight, he spit out his mouthpiece.
More like I'm coming to knock PAC out and I'm not leaving it to the hands of the judges. Plus I ain't going to run like coward Mosley.
i guess the fire isn't there anymore, any fight from here on will be all about money
It's obvious that he felt really bad with his lackluster performance against Marquez, and even alot of his countrymen felt he lost that fight, and you can tell that it really bothered him. I agree that with fame, he kinda lost your hunger, and it can be said about everyone really. But in a way, having a close fight with Marquez is probably the best thing to happen for us fans, because at least that gave Pac a reality check and that hopefully he'd be hungrier next time around.
Paqciao practically thumbed his nose at Ariza in his last fight with Marquez. He didn't do what Ariza wanted him to do. He just did a lot of running and most of his regimen consist of punching a bag and shadow boxing. His sparring sessions were not even impressive.
In contrast, Marquez did all the things his conditioning coach wanted him to do.
I also read that Ariza wanted Pac to minimize running or use his feet less in favor of swimming and perhaps a solution to leg cramps.
Paq better not fire Ariza for his next fight with Floyd.
