I know any time I've bet, I'm obviously just hoping for my result to come up. So instead of just being able to sit back without a vested interest and just letting the drama unfold, I'm caught up in it and it ruins the experience for me.
But for others, I guess that just adds to the fun of it all.
betting makes things more interesting for me. not only am I excited about the fight but I have something invested in it. that gets me more into it. if I lose, then there's more disappointment having lost a little bit of dough but if I win the celebration is even greater.
It makes it more interesting to me, if I am on the wrong end it can be upsetting but I always make a point of trying to learn why I went wrong.
I guess one could do that with out gambling but it really makes me think about the sport in depth and not allow me to lie to myself when I am wrong or I would be throwing good money after bad~.
Not sure if it ruins the experience....
But I never really liked betting on boxing fights, or really for any sports for that matter. The only betting I do is in Vegas on cards or slots..etc
Wow. Man, I can't even bring myself to spend 10 quid on a bet. How do you do it? No offence, I think it's a mix of courage and recklessness.
How did you take it really? Did you smash up the place??
at the place i work if you put someones name forward 4 a job n they r successful then u get a bonus (i picked up £3500) n i put some away 4 a holiday n used the rest on the bet (im only 20 n still live with parents so no bills either)
im from the uk n marquez was 15/1 to win a decision vs pac n i put £1000 on it was gutted when the scorecards was called out (i was already spending the £15000 in my head lol)

I think it ruins it, you end up worrying about winning money more than enjoying a good spectacle of world class boxing, and as a boxing fan, that is what I look forward to the most.
If anyone is betting this Friday and weekend. Throw a few bucks on a Draw for each of these
Sturm vs Murray
Cotto vs Margarito
Mares vs Agbeko
Darchinyan vs Moreno
These are all close match ups and if just one hits, you'll come up because they should be more than +2000.
OK, I wish I had taken your advice now.
SEE, this is what I'm talking about. Never tell me the odds :lol1:

I mean for me it just makes me more anxious but i rarely lose because i make bets that im usually 90% sure of winning
I've made most my money on Pac not being able to KO Clottey, Marg and Mosley.
During the fight i really dont care what happens and i really enjoy it.
Only 2 times when i was pissed after a fight was when i put $100 for Pac to UD JMM at +200 and one judge had it a draw:dead1:. Also i put $100 at i think +350 for Matthew Hatton to survive all 12 against Canelo and the homo ref stopped it with like a min left in the 12th:killyou:
That's cool, man. They're good bets. I would have been pissed too, to lose out that closely.
Betting e-points or real money?
Only the realest and finest green :boxing:

Yea usually it's kept secret on the number you got, but you pretty much know who got the first round by the expression they give when they check their number.
:lol1: That's hilarious, man.
Would you bet on the fight this weekend?
