i agree with you here. he knew how to take advantage of the refs/judges better than anyone. he knew if he threw a bunch of light punches without hitting his opponent the warren funded refs would stop it. against hopkins he knew he couldn't hit him cleanly so instead of trying to box and place his shots and be clearly beaten he tricked the judges by throwing a bunch of ineffective slaps that didn't even land.
To each his own, we all are entitled to our opinions and beliefs. He retired undefeated just as Mayweather may, and possibly Chavez Jr. and each guy could be scrutinized with respect to how and why the ended up that way.
It's a great sport...enoy :beerchug:
I say he is because of his incredible ability to adapt in the ring....his ring IQ was on the genius level.

Floyd Sr.
"Yeah Joe Calzaghe whooped all them n*gga's ass. He put Bernard and Roy Jones on the corner. Calzaghe is a white pimp! He beat the sh*t out of both of them and put them on front street. talked all of that sh.t about never losing to a white boy and Calzaghe ended all of that talk."
The Mayweathers have always been fond of Calzaghe. Floyd bet huge money on Joe to beat Hopkins in Las Vegas. Game recognize game.
the lacy fight was before he had hand problems? um no the lacy fight was near the end of his career and he had hand problems long before that like when he broke his hand against ashira. he didn't slap in the lacy fight? he always slapped even at the beginning of his career and what do you call all those wide "punches" he is throwing and landing with the inside of the gloves? those are called slaps and they aren't even legal but who cares about the rules am i right? slap and grab calzaghe beat the great jeff lacy that's all that matters.
This was just an execution. Brutal, just pure brutality. Also notice calzaghe doesn't throw any slaps because this was before he had hand troubles
Calzaghe was a monster....one of the best all around boxers I've ever seen.
