I can't stand fans that say they're young & they need time to develope. If they need time to develope, that's fine. But don't give then titles, call them champs & continue to feed them bums, fvck that!!
Then there's Broner. Got a gift against Ponce & now he's supposed to be some kinda champ. Really? I believe champs should be fighting world class fighters. Not former world class fighters but prime world class fighters. When Max asks these suckers who they want next, I'd like to here one word, UNIFY.
Btw what does Pacquiao have to do with anything? Man your obsessed with Manny....smh
I'd say about as much as Gamboa, Salido & Juanma did.
Hey, I'm calling Ali out for a fight. Think I'll get a pass when I win?
I mean let's face it, Ali beat Foreman, Frazier, Liston, ect.... I should get props right?
Absolutely, by the dumb poster top ranks standard.
I throw around overrated to loosly, like you don't. Remember Martinez is overrated to you, remember & that's after a ko win.
A solid win against Smith, ok. To me, he barely & I mean barely won. Matter of fact i believe the best he deserved was a draw. But like you posted earlier the fight with the Punisher & Angulo were at least 2 years ago, more than that after a what 14 month layoff. He's not the same fighter that he was even then.
But I guess clown a$$ guys like you have to think so because Mosley was prime earlier this year when he faced your guy who couldn't find the old man, talk about overrated.Applying dumb logic to everything cause you had to defend your guy for so long. Then got the nerve to talk about following boxing. Get the fvck out of my tread chump.

Cintron just got out hustled against Molina but so did Lara....to me that just means Molina is better most people thought......similar to how everyone thought Gamboa was overrated due to struggling with Salido only to Salido demolish Lopez shortly after.
Outside of that Cintron was beating Williams and also just came off of a solid win against Smith.
People like the clown @ss TS use the words "bum" and "overrated" too loosely....I guess that's what happens when you don't follow the sport.

"Well it's ok, he's only 21". So he needs to step up in comp. Champs don't step up in comp, they're already there.
Very rarely do we disagree on things and it's not about to start now. Great post Bush, you always keep it real and that's what I respect about you.

What do Pacquiao and Floyd have to do with young fighters having belts they didn't earn? I don't understand how you bring them into this at all. When they were young they proved themselves in ways none of these guys have come close to doing so. Berto is a great example of a talented guy that was given a belt and proceeded to defend it against terrible competition, which I thought was the issue you had here.
Alvarez is different than Chavez Jr. because Chavez Jr. has been doing this for freaking years. Alvarez hasn't been anywhere near that level of cherry picking and protection like Chavez has for so long now. Cintron's probably a better fighter than anyone Chavez has beaten, even now. And Broner JUST won a belt, give the guy a chance to actually defend it. You're being really hard on these guys, when they are no where near the best examples of what is wrong with boxing. Pacquiao's last two years are what is wrong with boxing. Klitschko-Mormeck is what's wrong with boxing. Hopkins and his crap against Dawson is what's wrong with boxing. Not two young guys who are given belts they didn't win against the best fighters in the division.
Why aren't you complaining about Felix Sturm or Lucian Bute or Andre Berto or Alexander Povetkin or the dozens of other examples of guys that have won belts they don't deserve and/or defended them against bums for long periods of time?
Agree with the bold. I don't complain about Sturm & Povetkin because they don't act like they're the second coming of Christ.
I don't complain about Berto because if team Pacman or Floyd chose to fight him, I don't think he would have declined. he was a champ in their division, after all.
Bute will be facing someone real soon that's good, but I did say what needed to be said about him.
Andre Berto is the best example you could find? Why don't you keep it real then? Why don'y you say the top 3 pfp fighters name? He's the 1 that made it all ok. Old, shot, weight drained, fat, he did it all. Chaves beat a fighter from his weight class at the every least for his title. There is no way that you can talk about Chavez jr, but not Canelo, no way. And Broner, he got a gift win over Ponce De Leon all of 3 fights ago.

Alvarez and Broner aren't examples of what's wrong with the sport though. Chavez Jr. is, but Alvarez and Broner are good fighters who got belts and seem to be ready to prove they deserve them. If they start pulling an Andre Berto with these belts where they don't defend them against anyone with a pulse, I'll be criticizing them too. But you're premature in your harsh criticism over these guys having belts.

And you know this How??? Anyway, I don't care about then, I care about now. As a fan of boxing, I want my moneys worth. To be satisfied. To know that the people making the fights care about the fans.
I find it funny that you, along with certain others are ready to make up excuses for it. Imagine if the steelers decided to play the seahawks for titles whenever they felt they needed one, we wouldn't like that much, now would we?

Come on Bush, no Alvarez didn't earn a belt but stuff like this didn't start recently. This is a sport where once upon a time title shots were determined by whether you were in good with the mafia.

yea, ppl think this stuff is new. it isnt. its been happening for quite some time. in fact, guys like ali, leonard, tyson, floyd, benitez, sanchez etc. are quite rare, mebbe one or 2 in a generation talents who are born knowing how to box. alvarez isnt that, broner isnt that and jcc jr definitely isnt that.
Yup, get over a champion needing to step up in class, what is boxing coming to?

You're the only one who is taking his "title" seriously. For Canelo his belt is nothing more than a promotional tool get over it.

Once Bundrage shows he's shot Canelo team claim they want to unify. I really can't understand how Kirkland/Bundrage fight has come together already. Thats a fight that can do well in california and d.c. the fight has the making a classic while it last.
I agree with you bro, but at least JCC jr. and Broner fought people in their own devisions to get their bs belts cause Canelo fought for a vacated wbc belt and the biggest joke was that they moved up a 147lber to fight him for that title at 154lbs.
This is true, to pick a welterweight to fight for a vacant juniormiddle WBC belt was a disgrace. At least give Vanes or Kirkland their shot. Canelo. v Vanes is a fight he can win and will get a little respect Vanes is at least undefeated.
Mark my words security will not allow Martinez in the ring to ask for his WBC belt back. The the ring belt is the best belt to have anyway. The best thing for Martinez to do is buyout his contract with Lou Dibella and go to Top rank or Golden Boy I still believe Martinez can whip Carl Froch

I read the opening post and its retarded. You think just because of an irrelevant title Canelo should be fighting the best fighters in the universe. Canelo is 21 and is WAY ahead of schedule compared to most elite fighters

It doesn't make sense that he got a belt in the first place, which is the main problem here, but for his age and for how often he fights, he's looking good. I ignore belts these days, they are degraded down to the point of being meaningless. For his age, Alvarez is being brought up right, and I'm not going to be mad at him or judge him harshly because the WBC decided to gift wrap him a championship.
Cintron was a good win, and hopefully within two fights he can step in the ring with someone like Molina or Kirkland, who pose serious threats but Alvarez has the talent to beat. If they keep babying him, I'll be right along with you. For now I'll cut him a break.
Exactly, the point of the tread is they are giving Canelo a pass, bringing him up this way, but he is supposed to be a champ. If you bring him up slowly, do that, but don't tatoo the title of champ on his forehead when he's not on the championship level yet, period.
I suggest you actually read the opening post because it's clear that you didn't.

You do realize that you wrote the bold right. Do you even realize what that means. Canelo is supposed to be a champion right now, time for stepping up in comp has long passed. But you are right, they are bringing a champion along & stepping up in class. How does that make any sense?
