nice post.
kid looks to be the goods.
any word on his age and height/weight? not sure if i heard it in the video
once they get him to the pros they should move him up to decent level journeymen quickly and see what he can do. no cans for this kid. at least not for long
He was fighting as a featherweight (125) until recently this year as he moved up to lightweight (132) at the World Amateur Championships where he won gold and he's 5 '7. As for his age, he's 23 years old.
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing
You're welcome.

300 wins with 1 loss what the
If that is true, it's truly incredible. When I first heard/read it, I couldn't believe it but when I saw this video clip, it might be true.
On a side note he is not the best pound for pound amateur of all time. That title goes to Mario Kindelan and if not, guillermo rigondeaux.
Compare vasyl's resume (which I know by heart, followed him since 07 and am a big fan) to Kindelan's resume:
Olympics
Gold 2000 Sydney Lightweight
Gold 2004 Athens Lightweight
World Amateur Championships
Gold 1999 Houston Lightweight
Gold 2001 Belfast Lightweight
Gold 2003 Bangkok Lightweight
Pan American Games
Gold 1999 Winnipeg Lightweight
Gold 2003 Santo Domingo Lightweight
Central American and Caribbean Games
Gold 1993 Ponce Lightweight
Gold 1998 Maracaibo Lightweight
Kindelan is retired and Guillermo is a pro fighter. I was talking about the current P4P best amateur fighter.

Lomachenko is the truth, unfortunate he's already had multiple surgeries on his left hand. Been following him since 07. Style made for pros with few tweaks here and there, he's actually right handed.
whahahawhaha!!! you have to remember that amateur fighting use to be WITHOUT HEAD GEAR. guys use to have 300 amateur fights without any bit of head gear.
as far as him being a decent pro it remains to be seen.........good amateurs usually make very sh*t pros.............
I don't understand what your point is or you're just a straight hater. So I guess Mayweather, Leonard, Wlad Klitchko, De La Hoya, all turned out to be **** but they had good amateur careers.
Check this out. He beat the dude so bad and yet the judges gave it to the other guy. The ref was so f*cking blind in this match, it's retarded lol1: The decisionw as of course over turned. I seriously don't think you even have to ever judge a boxing match and KNOW who the winner of this was.
I'm pretty sure DeLeon was upset in the Olympic trials and didn't qualify for the team. I think he said he was just going to turn pro instead of waiting for 2016...
Okay, that makes a lot of sense.
Watch how Lomachenko dominates with his right hand from 10:15 on. Just ONE hand after he hurt the other.
Over 300 wins with one avenged loss, Olympic champion, two time world champion (plus 1 silver medal), 1 time European champion, and multiple time Ukranian national champion sounds more impresisve than your guy imo. And you're talking about the 2012 Olympics? Because I couldn't find anything about him being an Olympian. If you're talking about 2016, than he will be age 23, the same age as Vasyl now who is already a multiple time world champ and Olympic champion.
:)

good fighter but the best P4P amatuer boxer in the world imo is Erick DeLeon. The guy has won 3 consecutive NATIONAL golden gloves at 132. Only person to ever do that. Floyd Mayweather won 3 as well but not consecutively. He is something like 120-0. On top of that he is only 19 and Lomachenko is 23. He is competing in the next olympics and is a favorite for gold

If he's 130 lbs. now, he'll probably be a division or two higher in the pros. It would be cool to see him against guys like Rios and Khan.
Isn't it always the opposite? Usually amateur who turn pro go down in weight, not up.
