My thoughts on the upcoming Canelo-Cintron fight.

I can see Cintron temporarily derailing Canelo just like he did Angulo... Really depends on which version shows up, but im thinking at this stage of his career Cintron could provide Canelo with problems. Very dangerous fight, but if he wants to carry that belt...

I know Cintron hasn't looked good in his last couple of fights, but Smith is a durable guy, and Molina is just plain awkward, skilled, but awkward. I think Cintron will come motivated and prepared, knowing this is his last chance. Like I said, Kermit is not a top tier fighter, he's a top 15 top 20 level fighter. When he comes to the ring focused and prepared though against the right opponent, he can do things, and to me, in my opinion, Canelo's very questionable defense makes it a more than dangerous fight for him, at times Canelo looks like an unstoppable force, and then at the very next second look extremely vulnerable, (look at the Gomez fight i.e.) but Gomez was a lower level fighter that didn't have a second gear and Canelo capitalized. I think overall Canelo is a better fighter than Cintron, and in the future will be a much better fighter, but in the things he's flawed in right now are the worst things he could be flawed in facing Cintron. But if Cintron hits him which in my opinion will happen beyond a shadow of a doubt, he's not going to handle it well at this point in his career. I don't see why some people aren't seeing what I'm seeing here.

Im still on the fence with this fight but i give Cintron a slight edge on experience. I wonder though what happens when Canelo goes to the body but of course what happens when Cintron lands something hard on his chin.

Canelo has that type of momentum right now. But here's the kicker. Do you know what the judges scores were at the time of the BS stoppage with him and Gomez? Judge 1 - 50-44 Judge 2,3 - 49-45 Can you believe that? I actually had Gomez winning the fight. What more did you want Gomez to do. Canelo was defensive and not throwing any punches, while Gomez was landing and bringing the fight to Canelo. Who is Canelo, Willie Pep all of a sudden? But come on you got to give the kid some sort a credit for not letting these type fights go to a decision. Wow, 50-44 huh?

I hope its the Citron that was outboxing Williams. I bet he's very hungry in this fight considering what's at stake. If the Molina and Smith versions, he's done. End of.

In my opinion, this is will prove to be too much for the undeveloped Alvarez right now. Cintron isn't some great fighter but, he's a relatively large step up from what Canelo has been facing, and he has that one equalizer, devastating power. If Canelo's defense was more polished and he had quicker feet, i'd pick him by wide UD, or even a late TKO. but as of RIGHT NOW, he isn't developed enough in those areas YET. 2-3 years from now i'd say he definitely beat Cintron, but right now it's just not the right time. I could be wrong, and Canelo could dominate, but i'm doubtful of that. I watched Canelo's last fight, with Gomez, and despite winning in decent fashion, he looked vulnerable, and overly exposed. Especially to right hands and left hooks, which ironically those are Cintron's best punches. The difference here is that Cintron is a good level or two above Gomez, and is longer taller and has a much better range, and obviously hits ALOT harder. Cintron struggles with good boxers, and some pressure fighters, Canelo is really neither. If his defense has improved greatly, and his head movement has improved, Canelo will most likely win, but i just do not see that happening in a matter of a couple of months. Prediction: Canelo will get off to a solid start landing some combinations, by the 3rd round Cintron will have found his range, and will start landing, by the 4th and 5th Canelo will be struggling to avoid Cintron's shots and will go into a defensive shell, Cintron will unload and stop Canelo via TKO in the 6th. Canelo wins this fight as I see it

I understand your point, but you don't have to pulverize someone to stop them, I think Cintron is capable of that. Not full on domination, and then a follow up brutal KO, but definitely a stoppage he is capable of, Canelo is just way too easy to hit at this point in his career for my liking. And if Gomez can land cleanly, so can Cintron, I just don't know how Canelo can handle that, he was hurt by a blown up lightweight in jose miguel cotto.

Here's how I see it man. At this point in Canelo's career, he's a star. The only way to beat a star, is to truly beat and destroy him HANDS DOWN. Angulo's no star, but you have to beat a star like Kirkland did to Angulo on his own turf. Even then the judges still had it as a close fight. Here's what I'm getting at. Even if Cintron "beats" Canelo in a public agreed decision. He still won't "beat" Canelo in the eyes of the judges. Do you get my drift? The only way for Canelo to lose at this point in his career, is for someone to pulvarize him. I don't see that type of beatdown coming from Cintron. Kirkland maybe, but not Cintron. I can't believe people still say Canelo would win fights by way of robbery. They said the same thing against Rhodes, "Oh no way Rhodes is going to win because the judges are on Canelo's side..." Why do people say that, if it hasn't happened yet?

I agree about Cintron not looking as good as he once did, but I still think he's atleast a good level or two above anything Canelo's faced, and when you've been facing a certain level of competition for as long as 39 fights, and then jump in with something a good bit better, it can shell-shock fighters. Like I said, I could be wrong, it's just my assessment, And I agree about the Kirkand fight, but he'd get absolutely destroyed by Kirkland, that's why his manager's won't let him get anywhere near Canelo.
