“If” Cotto wins against Margarito who should be next?

Cotto is shot, and Arum knows it he will never let him get destroyed by Canelo Berto Ortiz or Martinez. Cotto vs Paul Williams is probable next if Cotto wins

Canelo or Martinez This. Kirkland has no belt, Chavez Jr. won't make 154, Pacquiao will not fight him again, and Ortiz/Berto are simply irrelevant to Cotto atm.

If he beats Maragrito id like to see him take on Alvarez next. A fight against Kirkland is a great fight also though.

superstar elite? cotto has been a ppv attraction for over 3 years now... panda would like for cotto to unify next You have Pac, Floyd and the K bros as top PPV attractions. An impressive win for Canelo aginst Cotto would put him there. Cotto is the few fighters that is a PPV attraction but on top like the firts 4 guys. Canelo is somewhat a star in Mexico and can easily cross over. But IMO right now he doesn't beat Cotto

If Cotto beats Margarito, I'd like to see him give Kirkland a shot next. Once Alvarez beats Cintron, he should fight Chavez Jr, so we can move on with one of them and leave the other behind. Besides, Top Rank knows that Chavez Jr is mandated to fight Sergio next, hence why they want to cash out big on Alvarez-Chavez Jr, which would be a really big PPV fight. Top Rank knows that Julio would get smashed by Sergio, and even though I think Saul would smash Julio as well, they know the Alvarez-Chavez Jr pay out is more worth it than Martinez-Chavez Jr. It would be funny as hell if Alvarez fought Cotto, Kirkland, or Martirosyan next, and forced Julio to either fight Martinez or vacate his title. Lara should be in discussion as well, but no one wants to fight him, which is sad. I actually think Lara would beat anyone at 154. He'd out-box a past prime Cotto, Alvarez, and Kirkland. He'd completely school Trout and Martirosyan.
