Mayweather announced that he was fighting in feb, before that pac fite even happened

Wow!!!! it didnt take long for pac fans to try to spin what is going on. Bob arum , and roach said they want another shot at marquez to get this counter punching thing figured out before they fight floyd. what else has to be said they said it. This audio with floyd came out yesterday 2 days after the fight and after they said they dont want to fight floyd right now.

Like I stated in another thread, there are way tooo many stories going around. Ellerbe says Floyd wants Pac on May 5th.....Erik Morales is saying that GBP is trying to set up a fight between them 2........Floyd is saying he wants to fight in Feb (which rules out any chance of Pac being his opponent). I dont know what to believe anymore. How does Floyd saying "I would like to get back in the ring as soon aspossible. I event hought about fighting in February" rule out a Pac fight??? Pac fought Cotto in NOV 09' and than fought Clottey 3 months later in FEB 10', so how does that rule out that fight completely??? Also, Schaefer, Ellerbe, and Golden Boy still have Mayweather coming back on May 5, 2012. The reported facts that Pac and Arum are pursuing a fight with JMM instead of Mayweather at this time speaks for itself. How can anyone say Floyd is avoiding the fight???

I dont know what to believe anymore. Morales is NOT saying that. He says that Schaefer asked him if he would be available for May 5th, and he answered, "why not". And since then there has been NOTHING from either camp. Morales confirmed this only yesterday.

The only confirmed reports we have are that Mayweather-Morales is bulls**t, confirmed by Floyd, Schaefer, and Rafael. And that Pac and Top Rank are not pursuing a fight with Mayweather, in favor of a 4th fight with JMM. The judge that mediates fight negotiations between the two even verified this. What's his motivation???? Did Floyd pay him off??? If Floyd took a quick fight in FEB, though I doubt that happens, it's already November, why couldn't he fight in May as well, citing he wants to fight more than once or twice a year??? Still, Schaefer, Ellerbe, and all of Golden Boy still confirm that Mayweatehr is fighting May 5, 2012. I love the fact that people use Floyd saying "I would like to get back in as soon as possible. I would like to fight in FEB" as an excuse of Floyd ducking Pac. If I am not mistaken, didn't Manny fought Cotto in November 2009, than fight 3 months later in February 2010 against Clottey.....So how exactly does that rule out a Mayweather fight for FEB??? You can't deflect the fact that Arum and Pac are pursuing another fight with JMM, saying "Mayweather will still be there a year from now".

i think floyd chose feb. as the date for his first fight of 2012 because he wants to start early so he's able to get more fights in/stay active. but picking feb. makes a pac vs may fight unlikely for the start of the new year. It seems both pac and floyd are uninterested in fighting each other next; pac wants to try again in adding closure to his rivalry with jmm and floyd wants to be more active next year. You should not take other posters' "facts" as being reality. The FACTS, as reported on Boxing scene were, that in saying that he was wanting to fight on May 5th, Mayweather also threw in a casual comment that "I was even thinking that maybe I'd fight in Febuary" Nothing more wa said by either he nor his cronies since. But it has takrn a life of it's wn as such casual remarks often do with low level nitwits..

Actually the interview where Floyd says he's thinking about fighting in FEB was after the Pac-JMM fight Saturday, nice try though. That interview came out yesterday, notbefore the Pac fight moron. The fact STILL REMAINS and CAN'T BE DEFLECTED anymore......Top Rank and Pac are not pursuing a Mayweather fight, in favor of a 4th fight with JMM. so if he announced he was planning to fight on feb. right after the pac vs marquez fight then it shows he is putting no effort into pursuing a pac fight as well.

you forget that the contacted bob, so when this feb thing came up doesn't matter. also he still has may 5th on lock, he didn't change to feb, he probably wants a tune up fight in between to stay busy.

Mayweather should fight in feb, get Morales, then Pacquiao in May, if he's not too scared.

Floyd just knows how to piss Arum off. And that's one of the ways to do it, because Arum isn't the one to be presented with facts before the negotiations even started. And we already know who the "little midget" for Cinco de Mayo is: Erik Morales. Enough said.

i commend you for this find, but i think anyone with 3+ IQ already expectd this mayweather is fightig in feb to avoid pac as he has done for the last 2 years.

I think this whole shaeffer thing and ellerbe talking about a judge sending them a letter is all bs just so they can blame top rank and pac. From what I hear in this interview mayweather wasnt planning in fighting pac anyhow
