Looks like the 4th installment of this classic battle could be on the cards.
It will probably take place at full welter, 147lbs limit. Marquez was the bigger guy last time round and could very well increase that size advantage.
Will Marquez stick with the same game plan? Will Pacquiao and Roach find a game plan to counter it? Will we get a decisive result this time round?
Will they both go for the KO to take the judges out of the equation.
Poll coming!!!!
Marquez just knows how to fight Pacquiao but I'd pick Pacquiao again if they fought. Considering how hard team Pacquiao seems to be pushing for a fourth fight, I think they have an idea of what might have went wrong during training camp or during the fight and want to prove a point next time round, if there is a next time.
I'm going with Manny by late stoppage this time too, but it might as well be another close decision.
He has to be more aggressive and close the distance though.
Personally, I'd tell him to retire.
I don't understand why Marquez would even accept a fourth fight. He knows the outcome. If you look at his expression after the third fight, he was hurt emotionally. The only people benifiting from this is Arum and Team Pacquiao. They will keep fight Marquez until they KO him.
If pacquiao can't beat a 38 year old blown up light weight because he backs up and uses a smart strategy of baiting pacquiao in than pacquiao must not be as good as you think he is.
Marquez outboxed pacquiao period.
This sport is called boxing. And clearly you don't know **** about boxing.Yes I don't know sh1t about boxing obviously.
First fight a draw due to scoring mistake (Pac win).
Second fight Marquez lost.
Third fight Marquez lost.
And Pac would beat him again if they ever met.
The Mexicutioner Pacquiao maybe just retired another Mexican "legend", hahaha!
yeah everybody here was telling me how much of a "pactard" i was and just trying to hype the fight. . . it was ridiculous. . . i kept telling everybody how disrespectful they were being to marquez, and COMPLETELY IGNORANT to the surrounding evidence.. . . now rather than giving marquez his just due, everybody is just saying how pacquiao is shyt and overrated and all this garbage. . . it's pathetic. . .
I had it the same. I wasn't buying into that "JMM is going to be humiliated and Pacquiao is to run over him" crap 75-85% of the posters were talking about.
:nonono:
Márquez thrives on aggression, people were too stupid to realize that and are now calling Pacquiao a bum...
It's not black and white. Both fighters are good, they match up greatly. JMM will always make Pacquiao look bad.
A lot of posters here switch opinions more than Gatti took punches.
I expected Pac to win all three fights, I'm a huge fan of his.
The draw was a fair call in fight one.
I did score the second to Marquez very slightly, but had no problem with Pac getting the decision. The knockdown may have proved decisive.
The third time round I had the fight to Marquez by at least 2 rounds.
I might finally chance a bet on Marquez the fourth time round. No judge will want to be the subject of enquiry next time round. There will be a big focus on the judges next time. We might even see a Barerra vs Moralles 2 type of result (in other words Pac will look to have won the fight but Marquez will get the decision). If it can happen to Moralles (who had an unbeaten record at the time) it can happen to pound for pound king Manny.
im going for a draw. . . the rightful decision, and best way to end this rivarly. . . they are both each others equals. . . it would be so frustrating, yet poetic for it to end in a draw - the way it started, and the way it ends - TWO BESTS OF MEN proving to be each others equals. . . not one greater, not one inferior. . . EQUALS!
Just read your sig.
I though Pacquiao would win, but it would be a very competitive fight. I posted my views on another forum saying this and praising Marquez and subsequently got my posts deleted and banned for wumming.

Except that even with a draw, the record would read Marquez as 0-2-2 against Pacquiao.
That doesn't seem like a rightful decision to me.
It will be a similar fight to the three that preceded it. Marquez shows better technique, esytablishes his timing early in the fight. Outboxes and outclasses the Filipino. Lands the cleaner punches, dicates pace and range, makes Pac look confused and desperate . . . .
But they will give the decision to Manny.
I hope this time Pac fights like Floyd vs Marquez. Just wait for Marquez to punch first and wake me up after 12 rd.
He doesn't even half to do that. IMO Manny makes these fights against Marquez harder than they have to be. Also, for whatever reason, had way too much respect for JMM punching power. If the Manny that showed up against Cotto came in the ring againt JMM this past Sat. then there wouldn't be any debate and talks of a 4th fight wouldn't exist.
Márquez loses clearly the fourth time.
I just can't see him being motivated for a fourth time after so many close decisions that haven't gone his way. It's very discouraging. I've seen a few interviews (post-fight) and you can tell he's seriously contemplating retiring, and I don't blame him.
It doesn't matter if he continues fighting at this point, I don't think he'll as motivated as he's been in the past for two reasons:
1-) He finally got the third fight with Pacquiao and it marked his last high point in his career
2-) He got the short end of the stick yet again
You can tell he's disappointed with the sport and highly discouraged. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if he takes the fourth fight with Pacquiao, expect him to be outpointed, because I highly doubt Juan Manuel Márquez will be committed 100% to the sport after last Saturday, I really do.
Do like Marvin Hagler and go out on that note...
I hope this time Pac fights like Floyd vs Marquez. Just wait for Marquez to punch first and wake me up after 12 rd.
Well there was one blueprint on how to beat Marquez except Pac can't do that. I don't think he has the boxing IQ.
I find it a little funny. Remember when Hatton fought Pac & it was all how Hatton had changed, blah blah blah.
Roach said "Once he gets hit; he'll revert to type. You can't teach someone at that stage of their career new tricks". (correct me If i'm wrong).
So how can Manny all of a sudden develop a right hand? And Roach said as soon as he saw the first couple of road, Manny reverted to type.
I just find that a little funny.
Marquez boxes Manny's ears off yet again, and loses on the cards for the fourth time.
There's no way Marquez beats Pacquiao unless he kills him in the ring, and even then the referee would probably disqualify his ass for being too rough on Manny.
I hope Marquez KO's this dude. That's if it even happens though.
But he'll probably get robbed on the cards once again.
I hope this time Pac fights like Floyd vs Marquez. Just wait for Marquez to punch first and wake me up after 12 rd.
This fight is never going to end well, because Marquez is a chicken fighting like Wladimir Clinchko, fighting from a safe distance, and forcing Pacquiao to be the aggressor. Pac beat him 3 times already, and would beat him the 4th time as well. This fight sucks, I don't want to see another one. Pac needs to move on to fight Mayweather, as that's also a fight that would most likely end up being another trilogy.
Wow are you stupid, retarded or Buboy in disguise?
Marquez is a known counter-puncher. They use the other boxers aggression against them dumbass.
Just because Pacquiao & Roach have been too stupid to come up with a solution to it doesn't make Marquez the chicken.
