Shame really, because I think Pac does have a warrior heart and will fight practically anyone. But he is Bob Arum's plaything, he needs to stand up and say @i want this fight'. Jmm/Pac IV will be the same tight affair, with people interpreting rounds in different ways and the scoring being controversial
We know Mayweather wants the fight for May 5th (or Feb). Pacquiao scraped by in a trilogy bout, he shouldve just moved on and fought Floyd
Manny has increasingly alienated alot of fans over the past 2 years, whether its his fault or Bob Arum's, but thats whats happened. The shine has been taken off him and its a shame hes allowed it come to this
Strap on a pair Manny and take on the biggest and best fight out there against Floyd Mayweather Jr
Disrespect for Pacquiao has gone overboard too.
They brought it on them self's and its well deserved with all their absurd catch weights. How anyone justified the fight happening at a catch weight of 144 lbs. is fcking retarded. This was a rematch and at most the catch weight should have been at 140 lbs. to make it even for both. They where expecting Marquez to be another human pinata for Pac to wack away at will so they could claim how Pac is an unstoppable monster. For the last couple of years Pac has only been fighting well known name fighters with very little chances of putting up a fight. And the ones that where capable of putting up a fight where handicap with their catch weights. On the other hand Marquez has been fighting the lesser known fighters who came to fight and leave it all in the ring with the exception of Casamayor. Marquez is the kind of fighter that well always fight back no matter how bad the situation might be. This man has never ducked any fighter and I hate to say it but he well never get the recognition that he so craves and justifiably deserves.
if Manny was my fighter I would keep him away from Floyd right now too, thats obvious that they are going to do that right now Manny needs to not only get on the winning track and bring back his former self he likely needs to be in a better mental state of mind right now in his mind I know he believes he lost that fight....
There were things I saw in that fight that lead me to think Mayweather knocks this kid out in six or seven rounds. Manny looked glove shy as he was getting countered... Floyd can counter his ass off.
Manny looked like his timing was way off, well that must be corrected before you think about fighting someone who isnt easy to hit.
and Manny starting to telegraph his shots alot more and rush in sloppy, People are going to say Floyd stops him with the right hand, I dont see that, Mannys new weapon that right hook will be the death of him, everytime he went to fire that shot he pokes that elbow out just before he throws it, basically announcing "Here comes a right hook"
Floyd just needs to time that once he sees that elbow poke out turn over a quick snappy left hook Manny wont see it comming.
if i were Floyd I would start looking for another option I dont think we will see the fight.
I think Manny and Floyd are both past prime-still really good. The speed was still there for Pacquiao, but his not quite as explosive as he use to be. I am not using the triangle theory with Mayweather and Pacquiao, even though Floyd did dominate a better version of JMM at the same weight over 2 years ago. But, givent he fact that Manny was arguably beat by a past prime counter puncher, who has a pretty good defense....I can't see him beating a past prime-still really good Floyd, who may be the best counter puncher and have the best defense the sport has seen.
It's all uselss though, because tonight we found out once and for all that Arum and Team Pac never wanted the Mayweather fight at all, and they still don't intend to make it. It's living proof that Manny is avoiding Floyd.
Pacquiao-Marquez IV is bulls**t and the Pac fans are jumping ship, or sounding delusional when they try to justify this blatant duck. It finally looked like Manny was going to agree to testing, as Arum had said "Manny will finally call Floyd's bluff", but now we get Arum and Pac pursuing another fight with JMM instead of Floyd.
I think Floyd is where Ali was in 71'-73' or where Leonard was in 87'-88'....past his prime, but still really good. A couple years left.
I think Manny is where Hagler was in 86'-87'....past his prime, but he's still really good. He has a couple years left in him too.
But, it should be clear as day who is avoiding who now.
I have never understood why Pacquiao doesn't take more command of his boxing career in terms of deciding what fights he takes, and under what terms. Even though Mayweather is an ass in many ways, he has always gained my respect for his fierce independence in determining his boxing career and the path he takes.
Pacquiao is a congressman, he more so than others, should understand the importance of responsibility.
Pac and his team are ducking the fight EVERYONE wants. Floyd won his fight, pac won his. May 5th was the date and the punk b*tch dropped out...
Took Pac 4 years to make the 2nd rematch and 3 years for the 3rd. Now it takes 2 days? GTFOH... I expect all pactards to delete themselves... there god has been exposed and if that coward loses to JMM.... we will never see him fight Mayweather.who beats his ass anyway.
THIS IS BULLSH*T....
Like I said for 2 years, Pac is ducking Floyd Mayweather...
I doubt it, he looked sharp in there, I just think Marquez finally has his number.
Put him in with Ortiz, Bradley or any of the other top prospects in and around 140-147 and you'll see the usual massacre.
He dont massacre anyone unless they shot coming of their biggest loss or carrying a CW handicap or like some both , you and your hero are full of sh!t .
Put Oriz in there with Manny, I think Ortiz has a chance at winning that fight... you can call me crazy, Manny looks done to me.
Nah bro can't agree, look at what Roach said in the 24/7s, Pac was sharp as ever for this fight.
Marquez just knows how to beat him, after three fights he's got it down to a tee .
JMM will win Pac/Marquez 4

Are you willing to admit that Pacquiao, Top Rank, and all of Team PAc are avoiding a Mayweather fight??? It's been confirmed by just about everybody that Top Rank is not pursuing a Mayweather fight. I mean, the truth has come out.

Lets be real, this kind of **** happens in the sport, fighters often have bad nights, they have nights in which they get old, I am thinking both may be the case here, Manny has been on this level for almost a decade now, and going in there against Marquez who has his number, Obviously he must have bought into the hype to.
this is a clash of styles and it always will be, but I can not say this clear enough I think Manny is getting old now, I dont think he is in his peak anymore sure he is only 32 but he has been in some tough tough fights through out his 16 year proffessional career alot of miles on that body.
I honestly think we are seeing Pacquiao on the downslide... it happens

Manny just got shown for what he is. A very good fighter who has been made to look great due to smart matchmaking (like many of us have said for years.) His team saw Marquez getting caught clean by Kat and Diaz (and dropped) and thought he was ripe for the picking at 38 and at a horrible weight (like all the rest.) They were wrong. Manny is no all time great. He is no top 10 all time fighter. He never was. Boxing needed a star so they made one. The problem is, the light shines on everything eventually.
excellent post, by far the best thing ive read all day.....:boxing:
Yeah the media are back to sucking Mayweather's d1ck after shunning him for 2 years
And the thing is Pacquaio has fought more and definitly deserves more credit.
People forgeting how it has always been Mayweather refusing to fight Pacquiao.
I think he may have alienated alot of die hard boxing fans, but exchanged them for a sh*t-load more casual fans.
It was a business decision and I can't really knock the guy for doing it. He became an icon of the sport and a breakout worldwide celebrity. People act like there can only be one superstar in boxing, which is something I never understood. Every sport has multiple stars which makes for great drama. Every legend is defined by his nemesis.
As for this "delusion" business, I disagree. He's still a great fighter who's accomplished a lot in the ring. He did things that Floyd didn't do, and he deserves credit for it. As for the fight, although I think he's managed to make himself an even bigger underdog, I will reserve judgment until I see what happens.
Can't express how unappealing it is...
I MIGHT not even buy it.
I never thought it was appealing~ the only reason I wanted to see it was to know what I thought would happen to be correct. I really don't need to see it to know it but I needed others to see it to know that they were wrong, still need that to happen because people will still delude them self saying **** like "styles make fights and Floyd doesn't fight like JMM"~
It is kind of disappointing though because I already knew the party I would have went to for that fight, and I just wanted to see the look on some faces that remind me of various posters here, I don't think I will get to see those sad distraught faces because deep down they know now they were way off base even if they want to front~
I can't believe how things have changed so quickly.
Just a few days ago everything was so different.
An ass kicking from Marquez later and some shameless comments from his team, the view on Manny Pacquaio has drasticly changed!
:lol1: :lol1:
funny thing is that Pacquiao hadd all the advantages:
speed
power
Weight
age
any other I am missing? hahahahahahah
Funny how all the media is saying that Mayweather will dismantle him now, and how great of a fighter MOney is. hahaha
I said that he is a very good fighter. Which he is. But he isn't one of the greats.
hes a great. no way hes not. but for years ppl thought he was the best. rite now he exposed himself of conducting business no better that the evil floyd mayweather. and imo he will never be floyds equal in the ring, but that remains to be seen.
