Wow I know boxing was pretty Mainstream here, but not like this
Everybody and I mean everybody saw the fight, this fight will easily surpass the Margarito vs Pacquiao fight that had an historic rating, that fight was watched by 33 Million People here in Mexico.
But it was nuts here grandmas, kids, girls, cougars, gay people, narcos everybody saw the fight, and until today this fight is the hot topic
Talk shows that never mention sports, it had 3 articles in the first place of the most read news in the biggest newspaper in Mexico El Universal.
Even Televisa (the enemy of TV Azteca the ones that showed the fight) that didn't show the fight, gave an analysis of the fight for like 15 min and they were begging Marquez to not retire on National Television, very suspicious I wonder if they are gonna throw lots of Cash to have Juanma back to Televisa.
He has easily surpassed in fame the once 2 most popular fighters in Mexico that got there thanks to marketing of course Chavez Jr and Canelo Alvarez.
WAR-QUEZ YOU ARE THE TRUE CHAMP!!! SI SE PUDO CABRON!!

This is good to hear. Hopefully the prospect of a big money fight in Mexico will make it easier for him to turn down the inevitable big Arum offer for a rematch, so he can go off and make millions and Arum and Pac's team can reap the sh!t they've sown.
Just out of interest, is there anyone in Mexico who thinks Pac won the fight or do they all just consider it a corrupt/incompetent decision?
I only heard some fvcker on Espn Deportes with the name of Barak Fever, saying that it was a very close fight, and that Juanma should have fought like he did all the fight in the last round, and because he was playing it safe in the last round he deserved to lost the fight or a draw, I mean WTF! haha he should stop talking about boxing and concentrate on soccer instead, he's garbage when it comes to boxing.
And also another one on Espn Deportes Rafa Puente, that only watched the last 3 rounds, and saw it competitive, so he tought it was a really close fight, because he knows Pacman is great, and that maybe people were overreacting haha, but he also promised to watch the whole fight.
Those are the only 2 people I have heard saying stuff like that, here everybody knows it was a fvcking robbery.
not to mention that the Hamed camp purposely avoided Marquez as Steward admitted on camera again.
yeah but when they finally did offer jmm a fight.
he turned it down.
:lol1:
Hater talk.
JMM beat Barrera and Morales is begging him for a match.
This is Karma.
and karma about morales begging for a match?
morales wanted to fight jmm years ago.
juanmaricon refused.
like he did with hamed. like he did with a pac rematch.
barrera and morales were beasts.
by the time juanmaricon even won a title , a vacant one at that , morales and barrera were already almost done.

yeah a washed up barrera.
give me a break.
don't give me some bs about jmm being older either.
when barrera was on top of the world fighting the best......marquez was fighting tomato cans in inglewood.
If you've been a long time fan of Marquez like some of us have been, you know one of the biggest battles in his career has been to get this level of recognition from his countrymen and fans.
The style has afforded him longevity - to outlast Barerra and Morales on the highest levels of the sport - and arrive as this point. He gets hit more now and has become a bit more aggressive because of it, but nothing really has changed. Still a master boxer and you could see that waaaay back in the day - not the best fights entertainment wise when he was coming up, but just watching him box was a joy. I always thought it would be him to dismantle Hamed, but he lost to Freddie Norwood and blew his chance...set him back YEARS. It really is crazy how things can turn out and even though he wasnt given the decision on Satuday, I am very satisfied for him as a long time fan.
I was 15 when i first saw him live at the tropicana hotel and I can't believe e is still around on this level. Listen to him through the years, to me, all he really wanted was to be recognized by the people as among the best Mexico has ever produced.
Great post!
he still ain't on morales or barrera's level.
don't care how many times he kicks pac's ass.

Marquez put in a great performance, he barely got hit, touched pac at will, and totally humiliated the so called "dinamata" lol.
talk about bias, unfortunately barely gettin hit demolished his face
I don't think there will be many people at the airport, because he will get here to Mexico City tonight at 1am

Honestly, after this "win", I think Marquez has become one of the most popular Mexican fighters of all time, certainly the biggest since JCC.
Everybody's talking about this fight, he paralysed the whole country for an hour. He's finally getting the superstar status he's always deserved, WARQUEZ!!
It was huge. Here were I live alot of the radio stations were on the topic.
I wouldnt mind seeing him fight, but not at 135. Even tho he would kill most of those guys in that devision. I would love to see a 140 battle with Khan or Miadana
Hopefully someone can post footage of his homecoming, it should be viewed a victory celebration.

JMM's next fight should be in Mexico, it would be huge!
