I had it 6-3 Marquez after 9. Then he got conservative. Is Nacho to blame for his loss after telling him he was winning later in the rounds?
Round 9 could have gone either way and I can see some judges give that one to Pacquiao - remember there are other factors to judging beyond landing shots - ring generalship, aggressiveness, etc. I personally gave it to Marquez because his shots were cleaner, and for every landing shot from Pac, Marquez had a reply.
Then after Rd 9 - he stopped firing and I had Pac winning the last 3 rounds. 116-112 is crazy though since other than round 9 which could have gone either way, I think Marquez won the majority of the early rounds.
I say no to 4th match and Floyd beats Pac.
If it's "rigged" there's an acceptable amount of rigging involved, especially if it favors the fighters we love. I've said for some time that the fighters we love are more than just about the sport of boxing to us, we grown to care for them as people.
You can't expect Manny to willfully lower his own stock by making such an admission, certainly it would be magnanimous, but from a marketing point of view it would be somewhat retarded. Manny and Floyd are businesses that employ alot of people; I know that is cold comfort for the avid boxing fan, but this how the sport we love goes sometimes.
If Manny had any "balls" he'd take control of his career from Bob Arum.
You can't care for someone you don't love and respect, and Pacquiao has lost a lot of love and respect after stating he won last night, he has already lost more from that fight then he could possibly gain by not being magnanimous. It wouldn't have be a retarded business decision to be truthful, his stocks would have soared in the minds of many of his supporters and attracted new ones. He should have said nothing or apologized.
If you want to be regarded as a great, like Ali, that's the type of balls you need, stand up for what's right but not necessarily popular with all the yes men and suits.
The people who have rigged this have made Pacquiao and Freddy look like world class chumps and cheaters. Bob Arum and the Gamblers are crooks and unfortunately for Pacquiao, guilt by association.. He should ditch Arum ASAP as you said. He lost me as a supporter last night and it will take a lot to get me back, definitely a poor business decision to accept a win by fraud in my opinion, I know many who feel the same way.
^^^^Which means boxing is rigged and there should be arrests made.
Pacquiao is a ***** if he had any balls he would say marquez won and lets have a rematch.

Nacho wasn't the problem whatsoever, reality was. There was no way Marquez was going to walk out of that ring with a decision win, he needed a knockout.

Call me crazy but you have to land shots and be the EFFECTIVE AGGRESSOR to win rounds, I had marquez winning rounds 2 through 11 he just worked and controlled the fight landed the cleaner shots, blocked, Picked off, parried and ducked most of Pacs shots...
I disagree its not Nachos fault, its the greedy commissions fault who scored it for Pac just in hopes to get that Mayweather fight
He still won some of the last rounds, and Nacho was right, he was winning. He had to be careful, Pacman and Roach knew they were losing, so they knew that Pac had to throw everything at the end. Marquez was aware of Manny's punching power, so he adjusted to avoid being knocked down, and still for me he won some of the last rounds, more than enough to win the fight.
A lot of guys keep saying "he should have continued doing the same he was doing" ... it was a different fight at the end, Pacman was going to be more aggressive and Marquez had to be even more careful.
He was speaking the truth, he was winning the fight. He didn’t want JMM to become reckless and go for the KO increasing the likelihood of a knockout. Great manager,
He was kicking Pac's ass... why change the game plan?
Didnt matter if Marquez was told he was winning or not, no matter if he beat Pacquiao in all of the last 4 rounds even if they were close those rounds were going to Pacquiao because he was suppose to win and is the cash cow
Never change your gameplan if you think your winning, it's the reason why your winning in the first place. Critical error by Nacho, he was so affraid of Pac's power he made JMM too tentative to engage. Truth is, if JMM had actually fought more, he woulda been on the canvas anyway.
