It isn't the boxing skills of Marquez that give so much trouble to Pacquiao. Barrera, Cotto, and Clottey are good counterpunchers. Marquez, for all this robbery talk, still has never had any easy time with Pac. Even Erik Morales who actually won went through hell to do so. What Marquez, and that version of Morales, possess is the fighting spirit that's willing to trade with Manny. Manny can't push them back constantly and force them into a shell so he goes through these tough, close wars.
Mayweather doesn't have that fighting spirit. He retreats into the ropes and let's his defense act as, well, his defense against onslaughts. He has a mean streak - mostly towards doing things to take advantage of the rules - but that's not the same. It's still very much an interesting fight because Mayweather is much more bendable than Marquez.
So in other words, Mayweather will do what Marquez did without getting hit back.
Pretty much , Manny will hardly touch him and Floyd will T off all night , its not gunna be close you need to wake up from your dream state , we were right you are wrong live with it .
Floyd doesn't throw combos. BOO FREAKING HOO. Styles do make fight, but then again ask yourself this, who has made nearly half of their punches output count the most?
When Pacquiao flurries Mayweather will back or throw 1 counterpunch, Marquez stood his ground and hit with combinations and backed sometimes. You have to make sure Pacquaio can't drive you over and if Floyd throws one counterpunch it won't hold Manny back.
One more thing, Marquez punches harder than Mayweather.
One more thing, I changed my view from thinking Manny would overwhelm Floyd to thinking Floyd has the upper hand in this matchup. Unfortunatly.
No Floyd isn't Marquez but he is actually much better equipped to handle Manny, Floyd is not inclined to get in a firefight to get his, he will take the low hanging fruit until Manny makes mistakes then the fight is essentially over because Manny can't really adjust (except going harder).
JMM is an offensive boxer he uses his boxing skill to set up his ability to land nice shots, his defense is leaky although he does subtle things to not get hit clean. Floyd is a defensive boxer, who has a ton of offensive tools he just parcels them out conservatively as to not make to many holes in his defense.

Dumbest thing I've read in a while. It wasn't Marquez's boxing skills that gave Manny trouble it was his willingness to trade? If what you said was true Antonio Margarito would have a win over Manny right now but he doesn't. It was all boxing skill that gave Manny trouble last night and Mayweather possesses that in spades over Manny.
keep telling yourself that. None of those guys can touch Floyd. Pac has never seen anything like the speed, D, and accuarte quick counters that will be coming back. He's also a much better inside fighter than any of them
