Manny isn't that much shorter though. And its much easier for Floyd to fight shorter fighters than Manny fighting taller ones
true and true but the way I tend to see it Ortiz did land on Floyd and made him miss a lot too its like I said everybody here Flomos and pactards said this was an easy fight for Manny and that Marquez wasnt going to last 6 or 7 rounds...
its a style thing here with these guys and it has no effect on how the may fight will turn out
last night just solidified what I have always felt...
And with his testictles and heart removed, unwilling to throw combos, and lacking some lateral movement.
yeah I can imagine.
How so? I can tell you exactly why if Marquez and Manny were to fight 100 times you would always get that kind of fight it is a style thing I will go there in a min
Get what?
Really? You do realize that Marquez is basicly the same height as Manny Pacquiao and is a good boxer counter puncher I know where your all headed with this, Floyds much better and he has more height and reach....
Thats not exactly the deciding factor in the fight between the two, Pac is a very small Welter, very short, so when he fights taller guys like Margarito and Mosley and Clottey, he keeps his knees bent and stays small making the bigger guys have to punch down and when they do that its easier to make them miss than it is someone your own height.
You make them give up their height in reaching like that so when they do miss you can counter them much easier than someone your own height. my kid is only 5'3 and pretty much all of our fights against taller opponents have been much easier than ones against guys our size, and for that very reason

Marquez wraps Pacquiao with combinations not single shots, that's why Pac is so hesitant and throws off his offensive game.
It didn't take combinations to get Pacquiao off his game, it took one cleanly landed shot. Marquez made the mistake of trying to mix it up and got caught while doing so. If he chose his shots more carefully and closed up that defense of his this fight would have been a clear victory for Marquez and not a debatable one.

they dont get it

Seems pretty elementary for me.

You don't know anything about the sport.
Don't you know that the objective of boxing is to "hit WHILE being hit"?
Don't you know that? :D
My bad man... *Goes back to study the Gatti-Ward trilogy*
And that is exactly why he'll succeed where Marquez couldn't lol. Marquez's head movement and timing were what gave Manny trouble. Do you not think Mayweather has superior head movement and timing?

And Marquez's "style" simply consisted of moving to Manny's right all night...
Manny's right hand is still weak unless it's the third or fifth punch in a combination... For example, right jab, straight left, right jab (right hook)...
He doesn't have any strong lead punches, left or right hand and Marquez pivoting and countering every time Manny came in wreckless made him look pretty silly...
I think you mean that Mayweather doesn't have to get hit to return fire... We've seen Floyd get his and KEEP coming forward so I don't think its fear. It's skill

every time someone says this I cringe. Mayweather is not ****ing Marquez! fights nothing like him

mayweather doesnt fight like Marquez. lol. Mayweather doesnt throw combo counters.
Mayweather is afraid to get hit unlike Marquez who is willing to take the hits just to deliver his combos.

Marquez's willingness to throw combinations is the reason he gets caught more. Opening yourself up to throw a combination gives your opponent more opportunities to land something on you. Mayweathers calculated, cerebral style is the reason why his opponents land such a small percentage of punches against him, it gives them less chances to land something significant.
If anything Mayweather's style is the worst possible style that Manny can fight at this stage in his career.

Yes, and that's Floyd Mayweather, which is why I believe this fight destroyed the hype in the super fight. Now styles make fights, but Pacquiao will be easily outboxed.
