Thoughts on Cotto/Margarito face off?

Margarito can't even give a direct answer to the photo. He's deflecting it by talking about the wraps from the Mosley fight but failing to address the picture Cotto shows him. Kellerman didn't pull punches with Cotto either. He asked him why he wouldn't be willing to go all in (ie: die in the ring) to win the fight. Margarito made it clear that he's willing to die in the ring. I'm sure this'll garner more respect from fans that love to chant the "_________ is a warrior" mantra, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere where you're taking too much punishment. Margarito might've sustained career-shortening injuries from not having the corner or ref stop the Pacquiao fight. Kellerman at 8:12... Kellerman: "What did you think about the Pacquiao fight ?" Cotto: "Stupid..." He didn't even hesitate. He just fired it off. :rofl: Margarito saying he's willing to die in the ring and Cotto just smirks while he's saying that. Jeez...this should be good.

I agree it's like throwing wood into the fire. In reality, we look up to these fighters and admire their skills but most of the time after their careers are over, it's not like we really care enough about them to help them out if they're in financial or health problems. Boxing is a dangerous profession. You stay long enough, well...I don't think I have to say it. I think Cotto just ignored the advantage Margarito has going into the fight (to die in the ring) and looked at it from another perspective by saying that it'd be stupid to risk your health for the temporary admiration of fans. He's right in that it's stupid, but that's exactly what--objectively speaking-- gives Margarito a strength in the fight in that he's willing to do whatever's necessary. I also believe that people shouldn't look at this issue and say, "Well, there you have it...Cotto is willing to quit AS SOON as the going gets tough." Cotto knows the implications of fighting Margarito and in front of his fans. He knows how bad he'll look if he loses (or worse, gets stopped or quits) against Margarito. It's smoke and mirrors. Cotto is going to war, he's just playing dumb and giving Margarito a false of security. ANY LITTLE REMAINING PRIME THESE FIGHTERS HAVE LEFT WILL BE ERADICATED BY THE TIME THE FIGHT IS OVER. Hope your right,Marga's is not coming to play games tho... oh believe me, I know....but I honestly dont think Cotto is gonna be playing games in the ring though either. changing trainers for someone fully commited , garanteeing a victory has all the signs that he is all in!!

Tony basically admitted to using the illegal wraps there. He said something like: "Whatever...you need strength to win anyway, so what's the problem?" I disagree with people saying Cotto looks defeated. He looks calm and collected.

Oh I know he is not taking this fight lightly..Marga's KO'd him,noway he takes this fight lightly..But you know Marga's is not taking it lightly either..Should be a good fight,but I don't like Cotto's mentality in the face off..We know what Marga's is willing to risk,Cotto does not seem to have that in him,and it might be the difference of the outcome of this fight... We'll just have to wait and see. I don't put too much stock in what is said during the face-offs. I just look at it as another promotional tool.
