To me it just seems that he gets out of ever hard fight possibly. There's always some excuse. Are they trying to make him a undefeated fighter like his dad?

hes not a ducker yet becuase he never had any amatuer experiance he went right into the pros..but its starting to get to that point...
Its called being smart why fight Martinez which is a 100% guarantee ass whooping when you can make similar $$$ fighting C level competition. Chavez just got his title if in a 2 or 3 years he is still fighting bums then I'll call him a ducker or protected
I don't consider him a ducker because to me he is still a nobody with a name. He shouldn't have a title yet, but there isnt all that much competition in his weight division to tell you the truth.
He is not only a ducker but a bum with no talent.
To call him talentless is a bit of an exaggeration. Out of all of the fighters who have followed in their dads footsteps into a boxing ring. Hes one of the more successful.
But he's no world beater we all know that.
Every major fighter in the world has been called a ducker by someone on this board at one time or another so gives a fuk.
And I know most of the people on this board are knownothings so let me let you in on a little secret. 99.9% of fighter don't get to choose who they fight.
Their promoter decides who and when they will fight.
Chavez Jr expressed and interest in fighting Al Waxman after Manfredo...but plans fell aside when he found out Waxman passed away in 2001.

I consider him a record padder.
He's only hurting himself though. He can either fight no one forever or end up like Cotto. First big name you fight, get your ass beat.
I'm not sure that I follow, can you explain further?
I don't think he's a ducker at all - he's just not ready for the big challenges and although he hasn't admitted it everyone knows he lacks confidence. I mean come on, he has no amateur pedigree and he's just simply wanting to get the experience first. Didn't his father fight bums for his first 40 fights or something before he really started to up his competition when he got the experience?
Give it a few more years and he'll be stepping up his competition. As of now, he better make a move in that direction pronto otherwise it'll be too late.
So why is it called DUCKING for some fighters, but being protected for some fighters???
To me, eitherway I think you are trying to run from a asswhooping.
Protected is a term for younger fighter. For them to build a fan base, gain experience, and build up a name for revenue.
Ducking is a term for established fighters who don't want to get their ass beat.
You can also using ducking for a "protected" fighter who refuses to fight another young highly touted prospect. Example: Juanma-Gamboa.
Difference with Canelo and JJCjr is though. You get the feeling Canelo is 1-2 fights away from stepping up to big comp. JCCjr, you get the feeling he just don't want to lose even when he has like 40 fights. :dunno:
which is actually good. he aint doing what floyd is doing cherrypicking fighters.
Sadly, I see Floyd putting a massive asswhooping on a prime Pernell Whitaker, sorry lol, couldn't help but notice the picture.
I agree, he is like a solid B level fighter. Martinez will destroy him in KO fashion if and when they fight......we all know that he will weasel out of that one too :boxing:
Exactly! He will never fight him as long as he's looking good. I had high hopes for him when he was coming up, but now he looks like an average fighter.

protected would be the term i use. he aint a ducker the way floyd is.
Protected???? To me it is ducking, he never fights anyone worth anything.
Sorry, but even with Ceasar being a MW, he would never even step in the ring with a small WW as Victor Ortiz.

I think he already did. Martinez was asking for a fight, and he made up every excuse NOT to fight him.
I clearly see him as the KING of ducking, I hold no one above him.
