@stevemaxboxing There's an article circulating that NY won't let Margo fight. Truth or BS? Is the fight in jeopardy?
stevemaxboxing Steve Kim
@TheFightSource - I believe its' in jeopardy, yes
okay got a hold of Tony's manager and here is what he said
it's all in regards to 1. Tony's license being expired in NY 2. NY wants to consult with his Doctors to make sure his eye is fit 3. they want to be sure everything is in the past (re: wraps)
as for Tony's eye being gone or shot or whatever he has near normal vision and while the structure around it is different it does not affect his vision. He can get the structure redone after he is done fighting but the doctor's primary focus was to ensure his vision was in tact
this fight is on 100%
Great to hear.

:boxing::boxing: Yes!
I couldn't handle it if this fight got cancelled. This year has sucked.
I heard that his license in NY has expired (he last fought there on the undercard of Cotto Mosley) and that he needs to renew but he needs to present his case to be licensed to the board
I am not too worried

that was irresponsible of Top Rank to book a card without having even gotten assurance that the man headlining it was cleared to fight.
Typical Arum sh*t
Thanks for bringing the thread back.
Who ever did it.
I went to post and it got banned. Don't know why they banned it cause it did have facts into it.
If he doesn't get licensed IMO it would be more on the condition of his eye than the suspension.
No way NYC is going to let go the revenue of that fight since the Knicks are not playing and the Yankees didn't go deeper into the post season
You are funny without even trying. The only time you come out is to spew negative stuff about Cotto
They need to complete the mummification process on him. :dead1:
Yeah, I wanna see this fight go through and see whether or not the Cotto stan girls really have a leg to stand on with the cheating situation or if Margarito is flat out better. I think it's the latter. So now it's time for Cotto to go fight Cory Spinks or Cornelius Bundrage if this is true. Lol.

Yea and Scott Christ brought up a great point on Bad Left Hook.
The Commission Chairperson was present at the NY press conference. I actually remember that, Arum spoke to her about the stupid wraps in briefcase thing.
This must be nothing but a formality.
Have you heard much about the situation on the inside?
Can't imagine Arum would risk all of this promotion if he didn't have some sort of assurance.

For those saying the fight would get moved to Vegas, LA or Texas are not thinking straight. Margarito would have to apply for a license in LA and Vegas and that would take atleast a month and to promote the fight in Texas with only 2 weeks they would lose a lot of money. This fight should happen in NY they should give him the damn license and give the fans the fight we want where we want it and make them millions in New York.
