just watched the fight, oh my god, this guy is made for PPV
i couldn't help but think about him fighting guys like Cotto, Canelo, and even Sergio Martinez at 160
what do you guys think, who do you wanna see this guy fight?
Mainstream fans especially won't care about the Ishida fight. Until satuday nobody outside real boxing fans really knew who he was. I just think it would be a waste of his time. I'm pretty sure he already put it behind him. I'm just looking at it from the standpoint of his career and boxing in general as a whole. Maybe for himself he would need to avenge it. But other than that I don't really see the point.
I totally disagree with him rematching that dude. If he fights Canelo next or Lara or even someone like Martinez and wins. Then nobody would remember that fight other than that being that fact he needed to go back to Anne Wolf, which is the only way he be good.
We know he's better than the Ishida fight, It was a fluke.
I think he should fight someone soon within three months though to keep that fight fresh in peoples minds. That's the problem with these up and comers. THey get a big win then don't fight for months.
I have to agree in regards to Kirkland should rematch Ishida first. I think he would really reestablish himself again by doing that, then fight Molina, and then fight Canelo after that.
wasn't Kirk's win over Angulo, a WBC semi-final eliminator? and Maryrosian is another highly ranked Super Welterweight ... so is him vs Kirkland possible?
Why pay for it when you can watch it for free on HBO
HBO = premium cable
premium cable you pay for ... it isn't free. I don't see what would be so bad about Kirk being on the co-feature of a PPV fight.
PPV's are way over priced to begin with and Kirkland vs Canelo for example as the co feature on a PPV card would totally be worth watching
throw him in with canello on world championship boxing. Its the perfect stepping stone for each fighter. For the winner, other fights with cotto, margarito, chaves jr (petty, i know) and even paul williams can still happen at 154 before moving up.
This Kirkland dude is overrated and what we have is a typical Boxing Scene overreaction to a win. First of all Kirkland has a china chin and second that defense of his sucks donkey balls so anyone with average power will KO him. But back to the topic he should fight Ishida next and then go after Molina or Lara. If he wins those fights than all you dudes can get excited.
Might be in the minority but I want to see Kirkland Molina....... Kirkland still can be touched pretty easy and Ann has said she wants a few more fights before fighting Martinez. The WBC wont let Kirkland fight Canelo anytime soon and Cotto is past it. Lara seems interesting also but at the same time time I can also see Lara easily out boxing him.
I hear u Molina would be a good fight, but you can't say Lara will easily outbox him when Molina and him had a extremely close fight.
Why the hell would you want to pay for it? Why pay for it when you can watch it for free on HBO. It's just a matter of time before he gets knocked the hell out by another good puncher. Just a matter of time
Yeah, he's another knockout waiting to happen...
This. If he fights any skilled fighter with decent power he's lights out. In fact I would take Angulo by KO in a rematch. Assuming Perro doesn't plan on fighting foolishly again.
I want Alvarez vs Kirkland for 5 de Mayo but I think most likely we will get a Kirkland vs Lara or Kirkland vs Molina fight first (which I have no problem with either).
I'm sorry, but the very logic here seems twisted. Me personally will never beg for another ppv attraction. I don't get the logic behind wanting a fighter to become a ppv attraction. I don't want to have to shell out loads of cash to watch my favorite fighters fight on ppv. I'm a Raven's fan & I'd be pissed if i had to pay money to watch them battle the steelers.
Anybody not named canelo. Him on a ppv card again would be fantastic. He gives a good brawl (when applicable) and can get a crowd going. Molina or Lara?
