Why isnt anybody talking about this, Kirkland is legit, and I think with his style at 154 he can beat Mayweather Jr. Who do you think wins this fight honestly. Keep it real leave the nut hugging for a Pac May thread
i said this yesterday
this is the most exciting fight you can put floyd in
it would bring the best out of him
kirkland is a monster and styles make fights

bcus its a terrible matchup, kirkland is still up and coming and nowhere near floyds level.
kirkland never even been a beltholder much less in the p4p discussion, meanwhile floyd not only won tons of belts but been a p4p entrant for over 10 years.
even ann wolfe said they dont want martinez yet bcuz he aint ready so how is he gon be ready for floyd? angulo is a very good fighter but floyd is a couple of levels above that not to mention completely different fighter stylisticly.
who has kirkland fought that has any of floyds qualities? i mean i know theres nobody there with all his qualities but has james fought anyone who carries even one of the strenghts that makes floyd such a great fighter? i dont think so. meanwhile power, size and aggression alone dont mean **** if you dont have the skills and fighting IQ to use it. what world class technician has he shown he can get to in orfer to prove he can get his hands on the sinlge best defensive fighter of this era?
and let me just say i like kirkland and dont particulary like mayweather but have some common sense ffs.
I am not sold on the whole Mayweather wins easily especially at 154, The way I see it, we havent seen the 34 year old Mayweather go deep into the late rounds of a fight and he hasnt gone into the later rounds against a young fighter in years, the Ortiz fight ended early, had it gone into the middle or late rounds who knows.
What we all agree on is Floyd is starting to slow down a bit and is a bit more hittable now, and Ortiz was making Floyd miss quite a bit, I honestly think when you look at the welterweight picture right now there isnt a fighter outside of Pacquiao that makes sense for Floyd to face.
at 154 there is the winner of Cotto Margarito, Canelo and Kirkland and Kirkland actually presents the most exciting match out of all of them. if not Pacquiao I think this is the fight I would rather see over a fight with Khan to be honest. and I dont think its an easy fight for Mayweather not at nearly 35
It's a dangerous fight for Mayweather at 154, but I don't see him losing this one. He makes Kirkland look pretty stupid and possibly stops him later in the fight.
Kirkland against brawlers can be amazing fights... but against a boxing purist and defensive genius?
He doesn't win one second of any round.
a blown up Ricky Burns or Humberto Soto could probably box his ears off..
Hate to be the bringer of truth, but... As much as haters avoid admitting it, Whenever an up and comer wins big, Mayweather is mentioned as a possible opponent; Ortiz, Khan, Kirkland.
Whenever an old, past his prime fighter barely survives, Pac is mentioned; DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Marg, Clottey, Mosley, Marquez.
Deal with it, and if you don't believe me, just wait until the Pac/Kirkland threads start, we'll be hearing about how he's too small for such a match-up.
There's been a Pac/Kirkland thread, and everyone was in agreement that Pac kills him.

I am not convinced that this is a for sure win for Mayweather at 154, I mean Ortiz was able to make contact and make Floyd miss etc... and Ortiz in the eyes of most is a mental midget who has no heart.
here we have Floyd facing a bigger fighter, who has heart, bigger power and a southpaw and youth, I would like to see this fight, I dont believe its a easy win for Floyd if Angulo couldnt push Kirkland back hows Floyd going to?
scratch mayweather, speaking of ortiz...how about ortiz vs kirkland?? 2 young strong southpaw punchers, that would be a great fight!
This is a complete joke, Mayweather would destroy/embarass Kirkland. I honestly can't even fathum how we're having this discussion right now.
At some point it does get a little ridiculous. Kirkland just had a great win. Can't we just celebrate that and look forward to him fighting a paul williams or lara to position himself for the JMW title.
Build up to the fight, some would say Kirkland has a chance of knocking Floyd out, some would say they will only give Mayweather props if he KOs Kirkland, sensible people will say Mayweather spanks Kirkland in an UD and it shouldn't be made.
During the fight, people will say Floyd is putting on a clinic.
After the fight people will say Floyd cherry picked Kirkland.

Is this a legitimate question? I mean destoying Angulo hardly makes you capable of beating Floyd. Didn't Shane already prove this when he beat Angulo's uncle Margarito?
Go watch Davey Moore vs Duran too see what happens when when too green young studs **** around with a grown man.

Kirkland is a better physical specimen than Ortiz, but he's a lot cruder. I'd expect it to be much easier for Floyd to avoid Kirkland's wild punches than it was the few Ortiz landed. Angulo didn't make Kirkland miss and discourage his offense, Floyd would do that with ease.

Floyd should win, but make no mistake, that fight would be dangerous early, due to Kirklands size & pure power, added to the theory that Floyd doesn't possess big power at 154.
