Hey, how about Kirkland vs. Mayweather?

It would sell and it's certainly credible. Do you think Floyd would entertain a fight with Kirkland? And who would win? Me, I don't think Money would ever share a ring with the "Mandingo Warrior." Even, Pacquaio vs. Kirkland would be interesting. How do you all seeing that one play out? I was thinking about Kirkland. I would pay for this.

Kirk beats a less experienced Margarito clone and everybody goes nuts and automatically throw them in the ring with Floyd/Pac smfh!! Floyd would box circles around him!! Canelo would be the obvious money fight if Floyd wanted one at 154, but coming off a win like this and with the "mini-Tyson" hype Kirkland will without a doubt receive now, Mayweather-Kirkland could be pretty big. I don't think Mayweather would consider any fight above welterweight except Martinez though. Yes Floyd loves money, but no one except Martinez does anything for Floyd's legacy, and I do think he cares about that. If he's going to risk going above 147 again, Martinez is who he would fight. Yeah I agree, but Cotto or Canelo does more for Floyd than Kirkland, I don't get how top skank doesn't see that. Remember beating Cotto or Canelo equals 2 time jr middleweight champ. No the line was because the matchup makes no sense. All those excuses you gave as to why Floyd won't fight the real fights at 154 are stupid. Cotto being Manny's left overs is why Cotto-Floyd at 154 for Cotto's belt & recocgnized ring number 1 makes less sense than Floyd-Kirkland, please. Not willing to whore Canelo out for a big payday? Martinez brings no more money than Kirkland and no belt would be on the line, so why not go for the overhyped glass chin fighter in Kirkland? Floyd would actually get a highlight real KO/stoppage and look like a monster whereas he would beat Martinez in a competitive fight. Alvarez people have clearly stated they aren't going to whore canelo out for a big payday, something you would know if you actually followed the sport, and they plan to continue to build Canelo up. Only issue is he was knocked out in 1 of the fights, and guess what, his chin has proven to still be shakey.. And was proven to be shakey against conyers with anne wolfe far before ishida. anne wolfe didn't do anything different except have his lungs available for more rounds. having his lungs ready for more rounds was one of the key factors in his win last night

Floyd or Manny would UD Kirkland. Kirkland is a huge puncher, but too slow to beat someone like Floyd or Manny. Don't get me wrong, I love Kirkland, but he doesn't beat them. The only guy I want to see Manny or Floyd move up in weight for is Sergio Martinez, it's the only guy worth the risk. He's #3 P4P in the world. Let 154 play itself out a little more. They need to make Kirkland-Alvarez and Lara-Trout, and than one of those winners should fight Cotto.
