On topic...
Lara beats Kirkland. Angulo and Kirkland were tailor made for each other, so whoever won was going to look like a million bucks coming out of it. Lara is exactly what Kirkland would get embarrassed against I believe.
fvck that ****.
no boxers for james
warriors only, please.
just rewatched the broadcast
wild event. no sound. buffer walks
pro angulo crowd
...kirkland got stopped by ishida.
that place was quiet
outside of unnecessary beatings on his sparring partners it's hard not to pull for kirkland. he looked like a different person in there. no resemblance of the guy that fought ishida. dog shape.
there's obviously a lot to work on with kirkland as well. for the first half of the first round he was not moving his head. when he did move his head he showed a good amount of speed. there's a lot of talent there. he's always had fast hands as well.
i want a rematch.
kirkland should get a big fight after a rest.
angulo should be rebuild and recover and go without fighting any big punchers for at least a year in my opinion
and then put them in the ring together again and build it up. this fight was under the radar (not much that could be done of course, considering that angulo wasn't legal to fight in the states and kirkland spent a good stretch of time in prison and then got knocked out by a featherfister)
the next one shouldnt be
if angulo can bounce back and fight with a proper gameplan he will at least guarantee another exciting fight for as long as it lasts and there will be demand for it.
ppv undercard if they really want to do it right and show the sport in a favorable light.
I don't know about a rematch. I'd be shocked if Angulo ever fully recovered. He took so much excessive punishment, the guy didn't look like he knew where he was from the end of the first on. A rematch almost certainly holds the same result.

If Kirkland isn't getting an immediate shot at the Canelo-Cintron winner, go ahead and match him with Lara. Lara will box him silly. Exciting show by Kirkland against Angulo, but hittable as he is against a slugger like him, Lara should have an easy time schooling him. He deserves a bigger fight after the Williams screwjob.
I'd have to go with Lara because of his boxing skills and movement but dude fights in spurts and against Molina he showed that he's not THAT hard to hit...
fck lara..Kirkland deserves a big fight. He should fight canelo-cintron winner
or margarito-cotto winner.Maybe even martinez.Lara needs to rematch
molina.
And Kirkland needs to rematch Ishida.
was kirkland one of those who turned down a lara fight when this card was being brought up? i know angulo, trout, and dzinziruk did, i'm wondering if kirkland was one as well. either way, molina and lara deserve a big fight, james kirkland is here.
Yeah his team turned down Lara and Lara talked sh!t, said Kirkland acts tough but he's really soft on the inside.
people writing off Kirkland? ive made that mistake before....sure, he has a poor chin and all...but Lara's stamina is pretty poor....cant see him having an easy time with the pressure Kirkland brings.....
WHAT?????? :wtf1:
yeah and now he doesn't have it anymore. sucks for him, i'd like to see the rematch between him and konecny next year if dzinziruk doesn't get a fight here in the states. i think he might though cause this division is stacked with great potential matchups, dzinziruk included.
and lara is just brave. he wants to fight the biggest and the best. i mean what other 154 lber would ask for pirog in russia?
Ya he got a elbow injury or something half way through camp so they made Konecny's replacement fight for the WBO interm title. He will have to unify with Dzinziruk once Serhiy is back. Remember that Dzinziruk is in the US now, i believe with Gary Shaw. I expect Lukas to win their rematch.
Konecny vs Kirkland is the fight i most want to see. Lara sure as hell needs something too maybe he can get Bundrage he's rated high there.
Dzinziruk was in training camp to defend his title when he "turned down" a Lara fight. I like Lara but he can be a loudmouth idiot.

Lara would stop Kirkland in an easy fight.
I agree.
lol lara would absolutely pick kirkland apart. . . kirkland dies via 1000 straight left hands
im still not sold on kirkland beating any fighter with power and technical ability. . . his head is still straight up. . .
but you have a point - i dont see anybody at 154 willing to fight kirkland except maybe paul williams and lara.
I'm sure Konecny would and he would outclass and destroy Kirkland. He's also fighting for a Interm title soon so perhaps after he wins that he'll be able to persuade someone like Kirkland into a fight.

Man I just don't see DLH risking Canelo with Kirkland. Secondly, I've heard gossip (from a Cuban fan on this site lol) that Molina doesn't want a rematch with Lara. The bottom line is that Lara is one of the most avoided fighters at 154, and I don't see Kirkland ducking him at all.
nope that was never true. That cuban was lying.
It would go a long way in revealing wether or not kirkland is more than a one trick pony and prove if he can handle movement and actual boxing ability or only is effective when it's toe 2 toe brawls. He did show some poise and a bit of skill but lara aint no angulo

STFU, puta. Canela will run like hell from either Kirkland or Lara. Make Lara - Kirkland ASAP.
