It's pretty clear that Bob Arum is not interested what so ever in making the biggest fights possible for both his Middleweight Champion and his Welterweight Champion. Mayweather/Pacquiao would be the biggest fight in history, and Martinez/Chavez Jr would be huge in Mexico and Latin America.
Yet Bob Arum has done nothing but make excuses as to why his fighters should not fight the biggest challenge in their weight class.
We know the story with Floyd: Manny is scared of needles, Drawing blood weakens him, Mayweather wont fight in Singapore, Mayweather wants too much money, We dont like that he already picked a date and a venue (even though Bob Arum did the exact same thing for Manny in his last fight. He had a date and the MGM on hold before Shane had been picked as his opponent)
Now it seems he's doing the same thing to Sergio Martinez. His biggest excuse is "Martinez is not a PPV draw" . . . well what PPV draw has Chavez ever fought? Name one? Is Manfredo a PPV draw? Then Bob Arum goes on to say sponsors wont get behind Martinez, Martinez cant sell tickets and so on. And not just with Chavez, now there's excuses to not make a possible Pacquiao/Martinez fight. First Roach says "we'll fight him if he can make 150", Sergio publicly agrees to 150 . . . and then it's "we'll fight him if he can make 147". WTF? Segio hasnt made 147 since 2000-2001. Thats 10 years ago.
With Bob Arum prepare to see Manny vs. Bradley/Ortiz in April of 2012, and a couple of years from now Chavez Jr might be 60-0. All Bob Arum wants to do is set up hand picked opponents for his cash cows, and make sure they're both Top Rank fighters. This is horrible for boxing.
I know you're running out of excuses for your favorite promoter and fighter. But Do your post ever have any form of substance or intelligence?
Dood, repeat after me.
Floyd could have had this fight if he wanted it. That's the bottom line.
Tell him to call Todd Duboef and start the negotiations. It's really
simple.

The undisputed clown is back at making his circus threads lol. Here some red for you lol nyahahahahahahah lol.

so even though may sells more he should bend over backwards for pac?
Some Floyd fan suggested in an old thread that Arum needs to give
Floyd an offer he can't refuse. Lol. That's funny. The chance to beat
the overrated midget is not an offer? Is he scared or what? Why not
beat the midget easily and be rewarded with millions of money? What's
the problem?
All Floyd has to do is say let's do it and start the negotiations.
You're saying here that Floyd is really not interested. Trying to make
the fight happen is bending over backwards, eh?
I got it. Case closed.
:usa:
Nah. Ball has always been in Floyd's court immediately after the
Clottey fight. He would have gotten it if Floyd wanted it.
Look at Marquez. He wanted it bad enough and he finally got it.
Nah.

Arum preventing the Mayweather-Pac from happening? That must be the biggest bullsh*t you'll ever hear in this sport. I doubt even God Almighty can even make a reluctant fighter to even step in the ring against supposedly an easy fight.
The logic doesn't even make sense. I want the fight. Why? For the fans. For the sport. For the chance/opportunity of beating one of the best fighters in the world, who most boxing experts say I can beat easily.
What do I do to make the fight happen? Get actively involved in the negotiation process. If it fails the first time, try again. Do we see that in Floyd? No.
Im interested to see how chavez reacts to martinez stepping up in the ring and taking whats his.he would make chavez look like a sissy.
Martinez will step up like a baller and take that belt and if Chvez says anything, Sergio will punk him out bad. He'd be telling him to be his own man and not hide behind uncle Bob. If he gets smart, Martinez would simply laugh at him and tell him he is just a little boy and that he had no business in the ring with a real man in the first place.....the crowd laughs at Chavez jr. as he commences to cry in front of thousands.

Bob Arum has prevented:
Pavlik-Abraham
Margarito-Williams II
Lopez-Caballero
Lopez-Gamboa
Chavez Jr.-Martinez
Bradley-Khan
Donaire-winner of Mares-Agbeko II
This is just a list of contemporary fights. And except for Chavez Jr. (Margarito-Williams II and Bradley-Khan would be close to even money), the other fights are fights where the Top Rank fighters would've been favorites to win.
How many unifications are on that list? Which are battles for the Ring title? What did we get instead of these fights? The list of great, important fights he's prevented from happening throughout the history of boxing has to be extensive.
Mayweather-Pacquiao would be close to even money (depending on the demographic of the bettors of the sportsbook), so I have a prominent feeling Arum is the one holding this up. I've outlined why in other threads (the bottomline).
