Not an insult thread, legit question. Why don't many Pac fan's call him on ANYTHING?
There is a list of things that could be at least questioned by many pac fans(not all), but in many ways, some seem like they have been brainwashed or have joined a cult.
1. Pac's team agreeing to drug testing originally, only to change their mind and have it draw out for 2 yrs. They blame FMJ for asking for it. If it was something they should blame FMJ for, why orginally agree?
2. His choice last 5-6 opponents.
Marquez-Fight is 4 yrs late and 4-9 lbs too heavy. His own traininer admitted previously that they wanted no part of him. Why not call him a duck? The pass over Marquez because they say Marquez wants too much money, only to pay Shane Mosley the same amount and (correct me if I am wrong), pay Marquez the same amount he originally requested before. Why not fight him before? Did we really need to wait for him to get 6 months older? He also admitted himself that he is a natural 140lber, yet her makes JMM come up to 144. Why? He says he hopes he is fighting the same Marquez from 4 yrs ago, so wouldn't he at least get much closer to that Marquez if he fought him at 140?
Mosley- When he was relevant, Pac wanted no part of him over 141lb, but he was VERY willing to fight what Roach already admitted was a damaged Cotto(at 145). Then after he took a beating from FMJ and looked bad against Mora, then and only then did they want the fight. Why not before? Isn't this a CLEAR DUCK?
Margarito- When was relevant and calling for the fight, Roach said it "we aren't stupid". Then, once he got KO'd by Mosley, had 1 yr off, then looked abysmal against a C- class bum, then, Pac wants the fight. Another Duck?
Clottey- Although Clottey is a good fighter and much bigger, he was also the perfect style for Pac to beat. Punch and he covers up, stop punching and he reacts. Perfect opponent for a volume puncher like Pac.
FMJ negotiations: He and his team came up w/excuse after excuse after Roach originally said "no problem" WHY? If it's not problem, why start talking about "I wont let him do it the day of the fight", "not the week of the fight" "30 days before the fight" then after being caught lying, "24 days". His team lied about FMJ not negotiation in good faith( the arbitrator came out and said they were lying). They lied about FMJ offering 14 days before arbitration as well. Then, 6 months later, supposedly 14 days is ok. Yet all the blame is FM's and he is the "coward".
Most times, whenever there is blame put on Pac's side, it goes to Arum and not Pac. Well, isn't Arum working for Pac? Doesn't Arum say that it's not his decision who Pac fights, but Pac's decision? Well, why isn't he getting any blame from many Pac fans. People are bragging about him being a Congressman and yet they won't hold him to account for anything. There team has had A LOT more excuses than FMJ has and yet FMJ is a "coward". Then, what does that make Pac?
3. Outside the ring: Pac portrays the humble Congressman who loves and fights for the people and not fight for money, yet his actions say something different. He is reportedly a big drinker, definitely a big gambler, a multiple time adulterer, he frequents prostitutes, and has at least 1 child out of wedlock, while married to his wife. He claims not to fight for money and for the people, yet he picked lots of less then prime fighters supposedly because they are a bigger draw than more relevant fighter, not to mention, he has almost walked away from 2 fights over money (ODH, Hatton) and used heavy handed tactics to get the advantage in fights(Cotto, Morales, Margarito, Marqez and tried w/Mosley).
This is not an insult thread, so I don't need guys coming in with smart ass remarks. I am asking serious legitimate questions and hope I can get those answers from sensible Pac/boxing fans.
By the way, I like FMJ and Pac, but I feel that FMJ is easily the better fighter. I have no problem saying
Floyd acts like a jackass outside of the ring.
He is a huge diva
Although I don't think he "ducked" Margarito or Cotto(Arum confirmed this), I certainly think he should've done more to get these fights done, regardless of whether Arum was promoting or not.
He talks too much sh*t. (Pac is ez work, then needs drug testing).
He is a loudmouth showoff.(although most of this I think is persona to build hate)
His public persona is NOT a good role model.
Many times he acts like a st8 B!TCH!
He is entirely too arrogant, and should worry less about who is controlling negotiations and more about his legacy. He arguably has as much talent as almost any boxer of any era, but has not lived up to his potential.
So can I ask honestly and seriously, why doesn't Pac get called a duck or a coward or even get criticized for many of the above mentioned things?
