Hard to say who will actually win since they were both beaten to a pulp. Margo more recently. It'll come down to conditioning and mental state, and who can withstand the harder shots.
May the best man win.
If it goes 12, cotto wins by shameful robbery.
If he gases out marg will break him down again.
hopefully cotto fights and not make this fight an MMA hug fest! which i have a feeling he will.
Margarito in 10.
Pacquiao didn't even drop Margarito with a broken face how's Cotto going to KO him early? Cotto is nowhere near the explosive fighter Manny is. :nonono:
Sup guys!!
I have just watched Margie vs Pac and Cotto vs Mayorga.
I got Margie winning. In this fight he may not have plaster but he will have more weight and power.
It's all about whether or not Margarito's eye holds up. If the same Margarito that fought Pacquiao shows up, then Margarito will stop Cotto late again. Am I the only one that thought Margarito looked pretty solid? It was the most competitive shutout I've ever seen, he was just in there with a fighter THAT much better than him.
I can see an Izzy Vazquez thing go down with Margarito eating one to many left hooks and the fight having to be stopped, but if that doesn't happen I think Cotto will be in too deep again. Or if Margarito has regressed significantly since the Pac beatdown which is also possible, than Cotto can probably get a win.
No, you're not. Margarito gave a good, solid effort and, even though he DIDN'T deserve the fight with Pacquiao given his recent outings at the time, he made up for it in by fighting his heart out and making it to the final bell and never quitting. The man's threshold of pain is beyond comprehension. There were several moments where Pacquiao struck him with straight lefts flush on the broken cheekbone. That...must've stung...like HELL.
People look at that fight and think of Margarito getting beaten up and shut-out, and while it was, people overlook that Pacquiao took his fair share of punches. The only problem was that every time Margarito clipped Pacquiao, Pacquiao responded with combinations of his own to woo the crowd. So, while Pacquiao DID shut him out and turned his face into a mess, Margarito, within his skill set, fought the best to his abilities and actually had his moments in that fight, which is MUCH, MUCH more than we can say for either Clottey or Mosley.
If Margarito's eye holds up, then we're going to see a great, great fight regardless what happens. If it doesn't, I could see all sorts of things happening.
The worst would be Margarito starting to back Cotto up and beat the crap out of him only to have Cotto bust that eye up abruptly and then have the doctor step in and say, "That eye's too messy...you're done, Antonio."
I will celebrate Cotto's victory, but it would suck majorly to have the fight end that way with Margarito coming strong and then, by luck, having Cotto pop Margarito's eye. Sort of like Marquez/Vasquez IV...yeah, Marquez won...but I can't honestly give Marquez full credit for that win (even though I was ecstatic he won).
I though it was a tossup with a slight edge to Margarito because of the weight. But after seeing the pics of Margarito's prosthetic eye he has no chance vs Cotto. Cotto will beat him up badly and KO him late in the fight.

Im going with Cotto TKO by 10. He will outbox and circle Margarito for the first 5 or 6 rounds, and start swelling up that eye. He'll turn it up from 7-8 and will see Margarito is diminished and can't handle his accuracy and power. Cotto lets the emotions from the first fight come out and begins to beat Margarito down in rounds 9-10 until referee stops a hopeless Margarito. VENGEANCE
Margarito's beatings I believe will finally culminate on Dec 3rd. If Margarito plans to fight face first, I think people may be in for a bit of a shock. Plus, how good of condition is his eye really?
Agree with the bold, you may not agree with this but this is why I say Cotto should go in there aggressively and take him out. No reason to box here...
My bold prediction, Cotto KO3, Margarito walks in into a left hook he doesnt see comming, and he gets Wlliams'd.
My real prediction, a slow start for both fighthers, Cotto winning the rounds, the in the 4th Margo turn it up and wins that round and maybe the 5th too. but he takes to much punishment just to win those 3 rounds, his face starts to fall apart and Cotto pounds his ass till the ref stops between the 8-10 round!

I have Cotto winning a comfortable UD. I haven't seen that chopping down beat you down slowly power since he got caught in the Mosley fight. Skills wise Cotto is the superior fighter so for me I see this fight as a comfortable UD for Cotto with a few exciting moments for Marg every now and then. Plus I dont see how that eye will hold thru the fight. I think it might even be stopped.
I know you got Cotto lol but how about u man, how do you see it going?
Well, logic says that Cotto should win. He's 4-1(3KO) since July '08, while Margarito is 1-2 (0 KO) since. Margarito is older and has been fighting since he was 15...and with THAT style, the punches have to add up sooner or later. Add to that, you have that nasty eye injury which is the x-factor going into the fight. On top of that, Cotto's got the hometown advantage.
Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'd go ALL IN on Cotto either, though I'd go all in with Hopkins against Tito in a rematch . Margarito has a chance because Cotto is not a fighter who can box for 12 rounds. At some point in the fight, a war will break out...and it's there where it'll get interesting. We're still a month away from the fight, but if it were to happen tomorrow, I'd say Cotto winning during the 8th or 9th where Margarito is abruptly stopped because of the eye injury in a disappointing ending to what was shaping up to be a great battle. Margarito is never wobbled or hurt in the fight...
That's my BOLD prediction. My humble prediction would be Cotto by a hard-fought but clear UD.
Who are you picking for the fight, Bombs?

It will pick off exactly where it left off because Marg will force that. He's made it clear he's following the same plan and the same outcome will happen and cant blame him for that. Let's see how Cotto handles the pressure this time. Keep it in the center in the ring and rotate.

These buzz d*ckheads don't know sh*t. A lot of predictions for this fight are based off who should win b/c of Margarito's checkered past with the handwraps. The boxing god's don't always take karma into consideration when the bell rings.
You're right. The title is a bit misleading. If it would've had Merchant, Roach, Kellerman, Bernstein, etc. it would've been more digestable. Still, I just wanted to discuss this fight. I'm psyched!
Will it be round 1 of a new fight? Or it will the fight pick off where they left off? I can't wait...
