As delusional as Evander Holyfield seems to be, however, he has nothing on his one-time rival Bowe. Holyfield has at least been reasonably active as of late, and at a certain level he has proven he can still fight. Bowe? He hasn’t been seen in a ring since his slow-motion points win over journeyman Gene Pukall, who a 271-pound “Big Daddy” defeated on the under-card of the Wladimir Klitschko-Hasim Rahman bout in December of 2008. Despite this inactivity, his age and the fact that he once pleaded brain damage so as to escape a longer jail sentence for kidnapping his wife and kids (in 1997, Bowe eventually sentenced to 17-months for the offence), Riddick feels he can “whoop” both Klitschkos.
In a recent interview with Hank Koebler of Huff Post Sports, 44-year-old Bowe and his agent and friend, Allen Ellison, made it clear the Klitschkos are who they are chasing.
“I had my last fight in Germany, and that’s when I was on the Klitschko’s under-card,” Bowe, 43-1(33) said. “One of them called me ‘Grandpa.’ You know what Grandpa’s gonna do? Grandpa’s gonna tap that ass. If they beat me, that proves they’re better. If they don’t beat me, that proves I’m the cream of the crop still.”
Ellison said that “in one year the champ would knock either of them out,” adding that Bowe needs sufficient time to train. Bowe’s agent also argued how “fighting the Klitschkos would be no problem because they’re older guys too.”
Bowe’s plan, he said, is to “find somebody real soon.”
It seems another Bowe comeback is going to be launched in the coming weeks. We don’t know what kind of shape the former Champ is in; from a mental or a physical standpoint - but Ellison is putting would-be promoters on notice: stating that his fighter is ready to return.
“Bowe’s back open for business,” he said. “We’re reaching out to promoters, seeing what we can do to get on the fight cards. Anyone who’s interested in a match-up can go ahead and give me a call.”
Heaven help Bowe if he is persuaded to climb into the ring with some young, hungry fighter. Bowe and Holyfield seem intent on risking themselves by fighting on. All we can do is pray they come to no serious harm. It may seem a long time ago now, but there was a time when both men were likeable, witty and smart guys.
Whoever thought it would end up like this?
If Bowe comes back and knocks out Eddie Chambers and Tony Thompson (the two best American active HW's) then he can claim to be worthy of a shot at the K's. Chances of this Bowe doing that are slim to none. I'm not sure he even has a license or would get one to fight in the UK even. They refused Botha who is younger than Bowe.
I see what you mean but don't forget that both brothers fought the generally deemed #3 heavy in their respective last fights.
There's a difference between taking an easier match up after a big fight and fighting a 44 year old who hasn't fought in 3 years.
There is a huge difference. The division sucks, that is no fault of the Klits. But fighting and old, slow, inactive fighter would be criminal.
Is this fight really much worse than a 40 year old Mormeck?

This fight would be a joke now. The best version of Bowe beats the best version of either Klit though. To much skill and talent for them to go along with size and speed.
The Klitschko's = America's new Powerball lottery.
It seems like every broke American has been is coming out of the woodwork in their hopes of winning the lottery. Dont be surprised if they would bet their whole purse on Klitschko to knock them out.
Toney has been trying to fight a K brother for a few years now, he was crying in some interview how he even had to make fun of their mothers and they still wont fight him :lol1:
Why do these guys reek of desperation? I can only imagine the phone calls Klitschko's get from Toney,Bowe,Holyfield, like "Dear Champ, please fight me, I will talk alot of crap and take a dive in the 2nd round, just hook it up please."
LOL, I think their message goes something along the lines of a Dave Chapel's: "Sign the contract Mr. Klitschko. I'll SUCK YOUR D*CK!!!"
Seriously though, you hit the nail on the head, the K Bros are a lottery ticket. All the slave contract talk aside, they are the biggest payday to any opponent in boxing aside from Pac or No Money, and they pay well. Not to mention that their opponent gets immediate exposure to 30+ million viewers which means more fights down the line even if they lose.

I hear ya. I'm a big Klitschko fan but there's a point where it goes too far for any boxer or sporting entity. I'm probably that way with Roy Jones. It's kinda uncontrollable I'm afraid. Lol
I totally agree Bro!!
The win would be worthless and the Klitschko's have more class than that. Much like the way they have avoided a fight with Holyfield and Toney, they have no interest in embarrassing these all time American greats.
I agree. The Klitschko brothers do have class. It's the Klitlickers that don't.
sadly Big Daddy has been around the dementia stage since the 90's....did you hear his interviews after the Golota fights? Terrible.
I'm hoping both Klitschkos would smart enough not to make a fight like this.
Me too because after they destroy Bowe, all the Klitlickers will be out in force to laud the victory as an ATG notch.
:lol1:

yes it is far worse, Bowe was past his prime 16 years ago. Plus he obviously has brain damage from the blows he's taken for many years now. also Mormeck would last longer and probably do better than bowe at this stage!
yup he needs the money and I dont see anyreason he weill get a fight with either wlad or vitali...
he should have fought lennox
I totally agree. That fight not happening was a travesty to boxing.
