James Kirkland's loss to Ishida: Fluke or not?

I dont think it was a fluke I think Ishida is better than we give him credit for, and Kirkland went into the fight with that same way of thinking and paid big time for it.

It's not a fluke when a fighter goes down from the types of punches Kirkland went down from.

i think we will know more after angulo. too early to say now

plain and simple, he overlooked ishida... how else could a pillow-fisted japanese fighter KO kirkland (not like he has an iron chin anyway)? ishida's combos & angles put james in check... im sure kirkland/angulo will be CLASSIC i really hoping james can get it together... hope he doesnt turn out like an edison miranda.

he didn't train all that well in LV but this was no fluke he got hit, couldn't recover, and they rightfully stopped it

common now . Kirkland has as exciting style very entertaining to watch BUT he just wasn't THAT good. The guy has no defense at all. Kirkland was the fluke!

he did the same mistake khan did against prescott. after being knocked down, he immediately jumped into more punches. i notice many boxers do this mistake.

well he sounded fucked up when he asked cortez why he stopped it. He was obviously hurt. You know what's funny about all this? If Córtez had decided to stop the fight when Márquez was down the third time in the 1st round against Pacquiao, he'd probably be considered a bum today. Córtez was well within his rights of stopping it, but he didn't...and look what we got for a gem of a fight. I'm not saying Kirkland was going to put on a master fight following those three knockdowns, but he didn't look as though, "Oh, my God! Please stop the fight!"

No fluke, Kirkland's chin has never looked that solid to me and it certainly wasnt a lucky punch, he just didnt bother with defense.

He took him lightly. Heck he didn't think of him whatsoever. Plus you could tell he probably didn't train as hard as he should have. Ann Wolfe would NEVER let him come in unprepared. No fluke. Kirkland was a KO waiting to happen. Didnt think it would be Ishida who did it. But Kirkland has been rocked in all his significant fights. Both pre and post jail. His style is just an invitation to get KTFO.

Kirkland might of took him a little too lightly. Either way it was no fluke, he was getting rocked. Whatever happened to Ishida? I wanted to see more of this guy... Also, I'll be surprised if Kirkland beats Angulo. That fight is gonna tell us what we need to know, so we'll see.

Dont think Krkland even sparred before the fight i read dont know how true that is but you dont go from walking through bombs from Julio to being pollaxed from Ishida without something going wrong during the way.

Definitely no fluke. Ishida sworn on the spirit of Mista Me-ah-agi who taught the Karate Kid everything. Ishida use crane style against Kirklan. It will not work again as it only works for underdawg who is suppose to lose. Ahhsoo

Kirkland wanted to catch up on lost time so he fought more frequently soon after leaving prison, perhaps believing that prison made him a lot tougher. Also, he dumped Ann Wolfe, if I'm not mistaken, as soon as he got the Goldenboy contract. ****ty move and cost him against Ishida. He's back with Wolfe now, I believe.

He lost alot sitting in prison. He is obviously not the same fighter he was before and should have come back slower.

Getting dropped once could maybe be a fluke. Getting dropped 3 times ain't no fluke. yeah, but he probably never recoverd from that fluke punch that knocked him down once, hence he was KD two more times or whatever it was i don't believe it was a fluke though, Ishida was a beast that night.
