I can't believe everyone is overwhelmingly picking Tyson. Tyson does not fight like George Foreman, Frazier wouldn't face the same problems. If Frazier gets inside, he is immeasurably better there than Tyson and would hurt him.
I'm not saying that predicting Tyson to win is crazy or wrong, I understand the prediction, but I fail to see how it's a blowout in Tyson's favor.
thats what im shocked by. tyson has all the physical advantages but not in droves and frazier has stronger heart and will.

And some pushing just to add to that, every time Frazier got close enough to unload on a left hook Foreman pushed him.
Every watch Foreman/Qawi? Qawi literally just quits in there after so much pushing. He couldnt handle not being able to get close because george kept shoving him, preventing him from doing his best work. It was hilarious. Big George and his shoving.
If Frasier had use of both of his eyes then it would be 50/50, but as is in both Primes, Tyson would KO him in the 7th.
Frazier had the use of both eyes against Foreman, and it didn't stop his chin from being exposed.
Size doesn't really favour Tyson, he was about 1-2 inches shorter and almost the same weight, about 220 to 215. In everything else, Tyson was clearly much superior and would likely KO him, since Fraizer didn't tie up much. So it wouldn't be a Bonecrusher Smith sort of fight.
certainly their height and reach was somewhat similar but tyson was a lot bigger imo.
prime frazier was 200-205. so mike got 15 or so lbs. on him.
15 lbs. is a lot.
15 lbs. between big 6'5-6'7 super heavyweights might not be much but for 5'10-5'11 smallish heavyweights 15 lbs. matters imo.

Hagler wasn't a swarmer and his chin is generally regarded as one of the finest in boxing history.
He fought like a swarmer against Hearns.
Yes we need to look at other elements like chin, heart, stamina, etc. It's not as simple as saying "all swarmers get killed by punchers" boxing is more complex than that.
Swarmers get KILLED by Punchers. A good ATG swarmer gets killed by a good ATG puncher. Tyson would run through Frazier in 1 or 2 rounds.
Hagler/Hearns...
Anyone that knows anything about boxing will tell you that this is very easy match to predict. You have a super-aggressive,devastating puncher with tremendous speed, known for being a very fast starter against a fragile fighter that was exposed against the first and only puncher he would ever step into the ring with.
You have to remember,Frazier spent his entire career ducking and dodging the biggest punchers of his era.If he could help it,he would do his best to avoid these big punching type of fighters. The Foreman fight only occured when Frazier had no choice and was basically forced into the fight by the WBC who had threatened to strip him of the title unless he agreed to fight Foreman.
Tyson wins this one and does so quickly and easily. He hits too damn hard, has too much speed,is too great a combination puncher, and is too great a starter against somebody who is relatively easy to hit(not always to hit cleanly,in fairness),who has too weak a chin, and who was never a fast starter himself.
Let's be honest, though,as predictable a fight as it unquestionably is,it's also a very unrealistic(even in fantasy terms) fight.Frazier would have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the ring with a fighter like Tyson.
Tyson by KO in the first round. Smoking Joe with his give me 3 or 4 punches as long as I can give you one is tailor made for a brutal puncher like Iron Mike.
Slugger>Brawler
Foreman beat Frazier and I'd say Tyson could crack much harder than Foreman because of his speed. Tyson was explosive. You got Frazier doing his usual bobbing movement that he does and now imagine Cus telling Mike before the fight to land a crunching uppercut JUST as Frazier is bobbing.
That knockdown is going to look like Juan Manuel Marquez's final knockdown of Juan Diaz in the first fight.
No offense to Joe, but Tyson would've beaten him, I think. Not to say Joe doesn't have a chance, I'd just favor Tyson heavily.
this fight is not even close.
size favors tyson.
speed favors tyson.
power favors tyson.
chin favors tyson.
even the styles matchup favors tyson. pressure fighters usually get killed by punchers.
frazier is great but guys like tyson are a bad matchup for him.
this is the only guy in the thread that understands boxing.
Tyson kills Smokin Joe.

Foreman broke that defense pretty damn easily.
granted, he was 6′3 and a huge guy compared to joe, just sayin.
Would be an awesome fight that's all I know.
Well, he wasn't that huge, Frazier was nearly 6 ft and Foreman 6'3.5". They both weighed nearly the same, with Foreman 3-4 lbs heavier. These measurement differences are nothing for a heavyweight.
I could not answer the question at all. This is the toughest fantasy fight that I ever came across. Please help.
I've always held the opinion that Tyson would win this fight.
They were both all around great fighters. Joes strongest attributes were his workrate and stamina.
Tyson had the superior boxing skills, speed, power, and chin.
I have always believed that Tyson would TKO him.
