What's your point? We're talking about reach. All those guys are in the 70-73" reach category, as is Floyd. Reach did not present a problem to Manny, whether the opponent was coming forward (Margarito), going backwards (Mosley), or standing in place shelled up (Clottey).
My point is Floyd fights nothing like them & all them mentioned have a poor jab, there is actually 5 variations of the jab. Floyd has a brilliant jab & uses it brilliantly. It may not be the hardest of jabs but it's extremely fast & precise, he uses it to the body & to set up shots/combinations absolutely brilliantly.
And you are right with the latter part, certainly but that was because all the above fight short & have a poor-mediocre jab.
Cotto has a decent jab & it presented Manny with a lot of problems.

Out of all these guys only Clottey has a good straight right hand that he throws with full extension and this is what he did to Pac's face :

Floyd isn't a 40yr old shot to **** Mosley, neither is he a weight drained, slow & faded Margarito coming off a suspension & Joshua Clottey? FFS! :pat:

the fact that Mayweather doesn't even need to break out his combinations & can beat elite guys throwing 1 punch at a time speak volume to his skill level. he beat JMM in cruise control when JMM was P4P#2 in the world coming off a 16 month layoff. he beat JMM throwing no combinations right?....lol and he still landed 15 less punches on JMM than Pac did, and Pac tripled Mayweathers punch output and fought 24 more rounds.
How is any of this not making sense to you?
Good God man, can you take Floyd dick out of your mouth?
Mosley after Mayweather,?
Margarito after being ko'ed by Mosley, being suspended for a year then a fight vs a bum...?
Clottey after losing to Cotto?
:nonono:
Your response is irrelevant to the matter of how those guys used their reach advantage against Manny. None of them applied any proper technique to fought like they were taller than Manny.
thats not a lie at all....that is my honest opinion, jmmms offense >>>>>>floyd's offense.....now, in defense department, floyd sh1ts on both of them combined...
jmm was successful becuase of clash of styles and jmm's willingness to take risk ...jmm was suceessful not for being defensive, but instead by countering pac and following it up with combinations...floyd aint that,period...
Except, Floyd won't have to. He can land just as many of punches on Manny as JMM did, but that's part of him being a much more accurate puncher. JMM had his success when he stood his ground in close range, but it also backfired on him because Manny is more dangerous and his punches are more effective when you standing directly in front of him in close range.
Floyd may stand his ground, but he'd keep enough range distance to see the patterns of Manny's punches coming, and would retreat the more closer Manny would try to closing in. You're right about Floyd not being a combination counter-puncher like JMM, but it doesn't mean that he won't land as nearly as much punches on Manny as JMM did.
Pacquiao: 67" reach
Floyd's: 72"
Manny's last 3 opponents' reach:
Molsey: 71"
Margarito: 73"
Clottey: 70"
It ain't no thang.

Reach doesn't mean much when you have Pacquiao's speed and head movement
What head movement? Seriously.
Head movement - Tyson, Gamboa, Toney.
Pac don't have great head movement at all & that isn't me hating on him.
The same way he overcame De la Hoya's, Margarito's, and Mosley's reach advantage. Speed, quickness, and timing.
De La Hoya and Mosley were done. They couldn't pull the trigger. Antonio Margarito landed some shots, but he is very slow.
NO JMM doesn't have more of an arsenal than Mayweather has. this is a lie, come on Puga....
yes I can use JMM as a measuring stick because he is a counterpuncher just as Mayweather is, but Mayweather is better in every area than JMM. Thats a fact. If JMM can do all of these things better than Mayweather, why wasn't any of it effective vs Mayweather?
please explain......
I mean if Pac is sooo offensive why was JMM able to nullify his offense? He isn't nearly as skilled defensively as Mayweather.
2004: In his first fight vs Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao threw 639 punches & landed 148 punches.
2008: In their 2nd fight Manny Pacquiao threw 619 punches & landed 157 punches.
148+157= 305
2009: Floyd Mayweather in his fight vs Juan Manuel Marquez threw 493 punches & landed 290!. Mayweather almost landed the same amount of shots on Marquez in one fight than Pacquiao landed in 24 rounds.
Manny Pacquiao in 24 rounds threw 1258 punches. He landed 305 punches.
Floyd Mayweather in 12 rounds threw 493 punches. He landed 290 punches. ONLY 15 less than Manny landed on JMM in 2 fights & he threw 765 less punches than Pacquiao did.
The GAP in skill level is clearly apparent. In each fight vs Marquez, Manny threw over 600 punches and still couldnt land as many on Marquez than Mayweather did.

Fixed....:boxing:
:haha:
Jab? left hook? body jab? straight right? :slap:
just cause you think he is more versatile doesn't mean that his counter punching if more effective than Mayweather? Mayweather is the most accurate fighter in compubox history.
In the first 3 rounds of Pac-JMM 2, JMM landed more punches than PAC.
Mayweather vs Marquez was Total domination by Floyd who held Marquez to single digit connects in every round. Floyd distributed his attack, landing 59%of his power shots and 59% of his jabs. Floyd landed more jabs each round than Marquez did total punches. Floyd’s performance was reminiscent of Roy Jones’ domination of Reggie Johnson. Jones outlanded Johnson 276-48, but one can’t place Johnson in the same class as Marquez, and future Hall of Famer.
Pac held JMM to single digits in punching once, (8 punches landed by JMM in the 2nd round.
men lie, women lie and #'s don't.
You are sitting up here telling me that JMM is a better counterpuncher than Mayweather. I am telling you that JMM counter punching didn't do anything against Mayweather, %12 actually. While Mayweather landed %60 vs JMM.
Styles dont lie, If JMM is a great counterpuncher but is slower, older, less defensive or skilled than Mayweather. What makes you think Pac can do to Mayweather what he couldn't do to Juan Manuel Marquez?
what the hell is that?...are you implying the jmm and floyd style are the same by typing out those punches?....with pac yes, jmm is more effec tive than floyd would be as far as connecting punches is concernred...jmm uses more in his aresenal than floyd has on his...i believe that , thats why im tellin you you cannot use jmm as a measuring stcik of how floyd would do vs pac....they dont fight alike..
The same way he overcame De la Hoya's, Margarito's, and Mosley's reach advantage. Speed, quickness, and timing.
But, neither those 3 could match them in those departments...Floyd can and might be better in some(timing).
That was back when Pac was draining himself to make weight.
He's already shown he can walk through Margarito Cotto and Mosley
A 5ft6 guy that started off at 106 was draining himself making 130?
The same division he was at his very best & has wins over Marquez, Solis, Barrera & Morales?
So rather than crediting the guys that gave him serious trouble, you're saying Pac was weight-drained?
His wins over Margarito, Cotto & Mosley are hardly worth bragging about.
besides Hatton, when has Pac knocked out an elite fighter in 3 rounds? When has Mayweather ever been knocked down or out in the first 3 rounds?
did you even read what I wrote. Look at Zab Judah, he landed in single digits in 10 out of 12 rounds in the fight...SINGLE DIGITS!!!! some on Puga, your smarter than this
when has floyd ever done that?...lol
i think it was you who did not read what i wrote ..i never said judah won, i said he won few rounds quite easily...i said it floyd was easier to hit vs southpaw and history supports that...
