Gentleman (and ladies) James Toney is paying $6.50 to beat Lebedev who is overwhelming favourite only paying $1.08.
Does anyone else think this is being grossly generous to Lebedev? I would have though even at his age and declining condition Toney will outbox this guy for a win.
Is there something i am missing here???
I am considering laying down some serious coin on Toney........
Losing weight doesn't un-"shot" you. In fact, that much weight loss can only hurt you if done quickly and the "wrong way" and we all know what that means.
This Lebedev is the same guy sparring with Wayne ''Big truck'' Braithwaite in preparation for Toney.
1. Toney is nothing like Wayne.
2. Wayne beat the **** out of him.
He's getting dropped & beaten to a pulp by Wayne but gonna put a severe beating on Toney?
Hahaha!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74ChTg-QWqQ&feature=related = Video from a few weeks back of Toney in MUCH better shape!
Then you're a goddamn fool. Go ahead and bet your house on Toney.
I'm a goddamn fool because you hate Toney because he went & tried MMA, fought a top guy in their sport & came up short?
I'm a realist. Toney is a veteran that has seen it all! Who has ever beaten Toney badly?
Next question - So what makes you think Lebedev can?
Lebedev is slow, his power is massively overrated & his punch output is a sheer disgrace. Toney will Tarver this ugly Elephant man looking freak of nature.
In his last outing, weighing 257 pounds, lard-ass Toney didn't once hurt the total bum Damon Reed, who Deontay Wilder recently knocked out in two rounds.
Even if he does lose the weight, his reflexes are gone. He's going to get hit hard and often by Lebedev, who can punch. Just losing weight isn't going to save him.
I don't want to see a guy who disgraced boxing worldwide against Randy Couture get a win over a top cruiserweight -- that would just add insult to injury and allow Dana White to crow all the more.
But the odds here are correct: Toney is going to take a severe beating.
You are an idiot that admits his hate for Toney is because he went to the UFC. HELLLLO this isn't the UFC, this is boxing. This is what Toney does & has for 2 decades!
The odds aren't correct, the UFC have done me a favour by making the bookmakers think Toney is done.
Lebedev does not have the workrate to trouble even a disgustingly out of shape Toney.
Even at the stage Toney has too many tools for the mediocre Lebedev & way too much experience.
Lebedev was getting out-boxed badly at times by Roy, his speed which has declined by probably 60% & he was going up in weight still managed to give him absolute fits. Lebedev is not a good fighter & not what I would class as a ''top cruiserweight''
Toney is 13/2 at best, go get some points, i'll give you even odds & take Toney.
You're going to lose your money. Toney has been finished for YEARS. If he even makes the weight, that is -- no sure thing. When was the last time Toney truly looked good in a fight? Maybe the first Sam Peter fight? Since then it's been straight downhill.
Can you imagine the howls of laughter from the MMA crowd if Toney beat a top cruiserweight boxer after getting blown out by their old guy Randy Couture? They would never let boxing fans forget it. All boxing fans better hope Lebedev destroys Toney, who didn't mind making boxing look bad at a time when it is hurting in the USA.
You might want to ask yourself who Lebedev is, some overhyped Russian whose best wins are against an extremely faded Roy who give him fits, Alexeev & Macrinelli, none of those guys have any punch resistance what so ever.
This is an in shape cruiserweight Toney not a 260+ lb fat heavyweight fighting big heavyweights.
The only way I see Lebedev winning is by a robbery of a decision.
Betting 10 cents on Toney is a gamble. I think the odds are in line with his chances if not too favorable.
Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see Toney come out with the win but watch his last 3-4 fights and realize that he's all talk.
But that's gambling for ya.
6.5 on toney is good against this euro trash.... aint gotta put too much down and could come out nice:poke:
Bad move. Nationalism isn't tolerated here.
Toney looked horrible in his last few fights. His last big win is years ago.
Aren't they fighting in Lebedevs country? I would hesitate too bet on Toney unless you believe that James will knock him out. Far too many robberies on the scorecards against foreign fighters...........Rockin':boxing:
This is my main concern, and Lebedev is basically a busy fighter, probaby in a similar mould to Jirov. If he throws alot, but doesn't land clean, and Toney throws less but is cleaner i could still see him gettind a decision.
