I think JMM pride won't allow him to not be..I think his style is made to give Pac a hard time,I don't know I really don't see Pac having an easy time with JMM..Thoughts...
you should've said "would win IMO" ..coz he did not win...and it was not only you who thought it would be competitive..most of the pacfans thought the same...
That's cool, but anybody with unbias eyes seen JMM won this fight bro..Pac did not look right for some reason and JMM took advantage...If you just want to focus on officially then yes Pac won..But in the heart of true boxing fans,JMM won last night clearly...
Wow I knew it would be competitive but jeez,I did not think JMM would win..You got to love boxing...

I just think JMM willingness to die in the ring is what's going to give Pac so much trouble as well..We know what Pac's coming to do,that will play right into JMM hands imo...
Notjing will play into Márquez's hands, he will get KTFO. Sad but true. His time has passed.
It will be interesting to see how JMM takes Pacs punches at this weight. They've been reshowing Pac/Marquez I & II practically around the clock for the last week and a half, and even though JMM went down 3 times in the first round in the first fight against Manny he never really seemed hurt (maybe a little after the 3rd, but obviously bounced back well). But I'm not sure JMM totally understands how much harder Pac punches now and I guess we'll see if the weight and strength Juan has added will help him absorb the punches, or if he'll have a Mosely "WTF?" moment after the first hard clean shot he takes.
One thing we know for sure is that both men want this more than anything (neither is willing to come out the loser) and the both men WILL get hit.... A LOT. It will be good to see some fire back from Pacman, as in his last few fights he hasn't seemed to have the want or desire to really hurt his opponent. He had gotten too much of a "I don't want anyone to get hurt" mentality. I don't think he will hold back on this fight, unless in the later rounds JMM starts looking like Margarito did, in which case I think Nacho would stop the fight before that happened. But JMM will never quit. Kinda curious too if the added conditioning and proper weight gain will increase JMM punching power as well?? I doubt though that JMM punches would come anywhere near as hard as what he got from Margarito or Cotto.
It's gonna be a sick fight, for how ever long it lasts.
Marquez has as much of a chance against Pacquiao that Ortiz did against Mayweather. Marquez will make a good showing but will get overpowered and TKO'd in the middle rounds.
Manny the fighter he is now can make the fight even more interesting. Pacman might try to take Marquez out early, but what if Marquez counterpunches the **** out of him? Since Manny uses a lot of lateral movement now, that might benefit Marquez, as he like to mix it up with hooks and uppercuts.
Styles make fights as everyone can see. I see Manny boxing in this fight and it will be good. Coming for a KO and showing JMM no respect is something I don't see from the new Manny. If he does though, I know for a fact and EVEN at this weight that JMM will be effective. People seem to have lose hope on Marquez. I still think he will be very effective with his skill and heart. He might be slower, but TIMING beats speed. he possesses that ability, and will prove a lot of people wrong. I just want to see a great fight, and if JMM plays his cards right and boxes, we might see another classic fight.
yeah styles make fights. marquez has a good style to face manny. he can find angles that others just cant... it will be competative till manyy's power catches up with him.
pacman is a small ww. most ww's hydrate to over 155 lbs, pac can't even reach the ww limit sometimes.
jmm is doing the path Pac took on putting on the proper weight. he hired a conditioning coach and dietician vs NONE against floyd. we'll see how much this benefits jmm.
not saying he'll win, but for sure he would be BETTER adjusted to this weight than when he was against floyd, and against an offensive fighter where his counterpunching skills always shines, he would therefore be more competitive.
Well thanks for quoting me, I guess, but I never said Pacman was a big welterweight. i said he doesn't cut weight to make welterweight. Other welterweights do, that's why they gain water weight. In the case of marquez there is nothing he can do to make welterweight while being as effective as he was at lightweight, period.

I agree with this..
Man, your my guy, but I can't even begin to tell you just how wrong you are with everything in this post.
1st of, no one is saying the fight won't be competitive based on their 1st 2 fights.
No matter how you or any other Pacfan tries to twist it, Pacman is now a welterweight period. Pacman does absolutely have a size advantage at his weightclass.
Marquez usually trains down to about 133, that's about between 6-4 percent body fat, giving him the strength, speed, stamina & endurance to compete at 135. Which is already pushing it based on his age & him slowing. Remember Diaz stunned him & Katsidis floored him. The weight he hydrated to is all water weight on fight night.
Pacman & Floyd don't cut weight at welterweight. Well Floyd probably drops a little weight but not much. So Pacman gets to perform at an optimal leval at the weight he walks around at. That means Pacman looses no mass to make welterweight while Maruez only gains water weight on fight night fighting at 135.
Now he's going to have to put on more weight, both muscle & fat to make welterweight, more weight burns more energy.
I'm 5/10 around 175-180. I used to weigh 206, but then I didn't have the stamina, or the strength to compete at anything with anyone over 200 who was fit & healthy. Weight classes are everything in boxing & are there for a reason bro, period. Marquez has no business at welterweight, that's why the fight shouldn't be competitive, but if it is, it's more a testiment to Marquez & Pacman should be ashamed of that.

It'll be like the Cotto fight in where it's competitive in the first few rounds but Pac's strength/power is just going to wear Marquez down. But Marquez won't go into survival mode like Cotto so he'll get sparked out in the middle rounds...7th or 8th.
Contrary to what many people believe, Pacquiao has improved...he's a much more cerebral fighter now.
Pacquiao will either stop him before 6, or the fight will be a carbon copy of the first two fights. . . I don't see why people think this fight will be so one-sided based on their previous two fights? pacquiao has gotten better, but like nacho was saying, that could actually play into marquez's hands now should Pac decide to try and "box" with Marquez more. . .
Also, I don't see how people can come to the conclusion that the weight is such a big deal? Marquez has FOUGHT ONCE at 144 pounds against THE BEST defensive fighter of our era, the HARDEST style. . . AND, he didn't even honor the catchweight! ONE FIGHT! This time he's fighting a guy he went life and death with WHO IS NOT a natural WW, and who will have NO SIZE ADVANTAGE AT ALL! Both will come in at 148ish.

I expect Marquez to come out with a fighting heart, but, then we all saw one of the recent Pacman' fight on how he blew away the face of another Mexican warrior - Margs! who suffered a broken eye socket.
Marquez will be facing a different Pacman, with lateral movements, both hands capable of delivering hard punches of combos in great speed.
The fight will gonna be exciting, bloody and brutal!
Pacman by KO!
Hard to imagine Marquez not being competative. I know it has come too late in his career and 2 or 3 divisions higher than his ideal fighting wieght but I still see him being competative.
He was shutout by Floyd but even in that fight he still kept coming forward, he wasnt taking a sustained beating and in danger of being stopped. It was Floyd that was on teh backfoot until the final bell using the ring. Manny doesnt have Floyds skills so I cant see a boxing shutout like that.
If Marquez' reactions were as good as they used to be I'd pick him but the Casa/Kats/Diaz fights tell me age has taken its toll whereas Pac is nearer his prime.
