Cotto was ahead of Margarito and doing well, its just he punched himself out and got disheartened Margarito was still standing.
Pac was by far more dominant and Cotto and only had very short spells of success against Pac.
Both fights were great beat downs all i can think about is how he stayed in so long dam... Buti think mag did torture him worse in a shorter amount of time gotta give him credit for that!
In this kind of case photos are the thing needed. Stats don't say much when talking about beatdowns.
Margarito:

Damn Cotto is a focking warrior for real. I respect him he comes to fight regardless.
Nah bro, the stats actually favor Manny over MArgi too IMO.
Both bad beatings, but I would have to say that the one Margarito gave him was worse. did more damage to him mentally and physically. PLUS HE PROBABLY CHEATED TOO.
To make a warrior like cotto kneel to not get hit anymore shows that you did a number on him
Roach prior to Cotto-Pac:
"The big thing right now is, is he the same fighter that he once was since the fight with Margarito? How much did that fight take out of him? He took a lot of punishment in that fight, he hasn't really looked that good since that fight."
I rewatched both fights. Manny took Cottos heart sooner than Marg though we must say Tony fought a nver been defeated Cotto...
Well, Cotto was a shot fighter when he fought Pacquiao. The Margarito fight was much more shocking, because it was a bizarre turn of momentum and such a sudden and brutal display of facial injuries that led up to the 11th round stoppage. Pacquiao beat him badly, but you more or less knew that he would beat him at that point in Cotto's career.
The question of "who beat Cotto worse" is a bit obtuse in the first place. What's the purpose of asking this, other than to brag about how Pacquiao beat Cotto worse than Margarito? Don't really see the point or benefit of posing this question or this poll.
Manny because he did it without plaster. Also... Cotto was in the fight til the 10th... got careless on the ropes with hands down and got caught... fight changes for the worse. Prior to that he was on course to make the 12 rounds. Remember.. he was not KO'd and dizzy... he was tired and his nose busted by plaster from round 2 on... Manny took over from rd 3...
Then again, Manny might be juiced up

When the fight was stopped he was down on the cards...The fight had change by the six rd..
why didn't he run from Margarito? If I remember correctly he was ahead on all the cards or is it that he did try and failed?
From the six rd on Cotto was really running from Marga's tbh..And to end the fight he ran away into the corner which lead to the fight being stopped by the ref and his corner..
Cotto looked the same in all his fights bro,not to mention he had war after war..Only right he would slow down at this age..I don't think one fight with Pac did that, but all the punishment over the yrs adds up..
I agree...he didn't want to take another beating like the one Tony gave him. So he avoided pac.

As for the thread I'm going with the same because Cotto ran from Pac, but I could just imagine if he held his ground, he would of gotten a worse beating.

Pac did. Cotto was actually able to recover from the Marg fight. His comeback fight against Jennings showed that Cotto was able to still do his thing but after that Pac fight, Cotto has never looked the same.

Pac.
Pac had Cotto on survival mode after 4 rounds and dropped him twice early, Cotto didn't start being in full retreat until the 9th/10th round against Marg.
Damn he actually started fighting with Pac at the end of the second, and it continued right into the third. At the end of the second Cott's trainer even says "you're fighting his fight, his gameplan, use your jab!".
