My opinion has always been that if both Pac and May are hell bent on avoiding each other, then all roads lead to Martinez.
The question is, would either one of them have an easier night against Martinez then each other, I honestly don't think so. Mayweather beating Martinez at this stage is a very tough pill to swallow, and based on size and skill, Pac doing it is IMHO damn near impossible.
No poll, just discuss; Thoughts?
Pacs resume and accomplishments are better than Floyd indeed, therefore is a greater fighter for sure.
But having more skills dont mean you are a better fighter. More skills, mean just that, but dont mean you are able to apply them. Ability is more important and Pacs got ABILITY. You could argue there are other fighters with more skill than Pac, but you would be an idiot to say everyone with more skills than Pac is a better fighter! So to say Floyd is a better fighter because he has more skills is naive to say the least. Theres more involved in being a great fighter than skills ie Heart, chin, punch power, speed etc etc.
I think Floydie is better fighter/boxer than Pacquiao really..
they are not the same but i dont get floyd demands drug test, floyd has all the advantage but i think he hesitates coz he's afraid to lose and he demands more attention, he's jealous about asian athletes and i dont get it coz he has been great boxer, he keeps sayin people are racist about him.
All i can say is:
Floyd Mayweather - The greatest boxer of his era.
Manny Pacquiao - The greatest athlete/person of his era.
Timothy Bradley - Gifted boxer undefeated but beneficiary of 3 blind mice.
:usa::boxing:
Martinez shouldn't even be mentioned as a Pacquiao opponent. Paquiao is just too small, even though he beat Margarito he got really hurt in that fight and had to be helped out to his dressing room. Pacquiao's a beast at catch weights but if thats the case I don't care to see that fight..
Pacman recieves a 12 round schooling from Floyd & is stopped brutally inside of 6 against Martinez.
Floyd schools Pacman & drops a ud to Martinez.
Martinez brutally ko's Manny inside of 6 & ud's a very skilled Floyd. Clear, simple & to the point.
If you think Pac beats Floyd easily why do you have Jrosales13's quote in your sig? The quote in which he states Floyd is the better boxer and would probably beat Pac in a head to head match up. Confused are we?

easy fight
if either of them meet sergio at 154 they are at risk of getting beat....u dont know boxing.....and i think floyd is more man 2 take that challenge...ya act like sergio ant number 3 pound4pound....he knocked out his last 3 opponents... and pac-man did not....(clottey margarito sugar shane)
i think Pac and Sergio would beat Floyd, even though i think Sergio is overated, if given the chance could beat Floyd.
Pac vs Floyd i think people will be shocked how comfortable Pac would be against Floyd. Floyd hasnt shown me enough for me to think he would beat Sergio as well.
Close, chess type fights in which Floyd loses.

no surprise here at all coming form a pactard
Sergio is the tougher fight for each guy in all honesty. He has great head movement, speed, and pretty decent punching power. Mayweather's safety first style makes me think he gets decisioned against Sergio and Manny's balls to the wall style makes me think he gets KO'd against Sergio. My reasoning for this is due to the fact that Manny is way too open for that left cross that knocked out Williams and Dzinzurik.
If all things were equal meaning size and reach and weight I think both Pac and Floyd beat Sergio but given that both guys are physically smaller I'm not sure either can Fck with Sergio. That is All :boxing:

Floyd fighting Sergio is risky and rewarding so im not too sure what you mean. This is an important part of Floyd career. He will get great respect from beating Martinez so why isnt that a reward? If you mean Floyd could lose his zero by saying its risky that is possible.
But if Floyd is seen to be protecting his zero this tail end of his career it will be obvious to everyone plain to see.
So if he cant get the pac fight made, Sergio is the natural alternative.
I'd say it were true, if Floyd really cared about his legacy in a way that beating Martinez would elevate him more over. All Floyd is concerned about is making the most money he possibly can with the least risk. Some will knock him for it, some will say it's smart business. Floyd's mindstate is that he doesn't need to beat anyone because he's the pinnacle, and he genuinely believes that. What he looks for is dollar signs and there is nobody else in the world that can give him the payday of his life besides Pacquiao. The risk is there, and the reward is there...in the eyes of Floyd.
It would be one thing also if Martinez had the aura of a Marvin Hagler or even Bernard Hopkins where Floyd beating him would be heralded so high just off name sake. Martinez, though popular among Boxing fans, STILL isn't a big name in the big scheme of things. Ill eat my words if Floyd does fight Serg, but I believe Pac vs Mayweather is much more realistic.
floyd will be the toughest challenge either has faced. And will walk through the OVERRATED martinez. cant decide the outcome of the pac/may fight. but yes martinez is easier than fighting eachother
it's hard to imagine. I think sergios habbit of dropping his hands will negate his size advantages against both pac & may. He's never seen the speed those two bring to the table and if barkley can land, floyd and pac will have a field day. Lets be real, you can make an arguement that he lost to PWIL the 1st time out.
Floyd has an easier time with sergio than he does with manny
Sergio doesnt throw as much, and if you give mayweather time to think, the fights over.
I think for manny, it doesnt make a difference. As you can see, he can do no wrong. He's not under the pressure that mayweather is under.
I think floyd and sergio are equally tough fights for manny.
He also took the fight on 2 weeks notice and fought at 160 for the first time since 2006 and only the 2nd time in his life. Martinez keeps his hands up when he feels he needs to...as in the first Williams fight.
I'd say he'll offer about the same amount of difficulty as Pac would for Floyd (Pacquiao is obviously better pound-for-pound, but Martinez's size will make Floyd's life hard in there.)
But Mayweather would be tougher for Pacquiao than Martinez would. He'd have the frequent opportunity to catch Sergio and score points, not so with Floyd.
It's easy to say they each would beat Martinez easily based on how they perform against other guys. The facts are that Martinez is a southpaw, counter-puncher with a longer reach than either guy and a slight height advantage, good reflexes, and power and speed.
Pac would have a harder time against Martinez because he would have to lunge in at Martinez and would end up eating too many counters to keep from getting stopped.
Floyd would have a better chance because of his reach but he would get destroyed by Martinez's right hand. The way that Martinez doubles up his punches would have Floyd turning into punches that he didn't think would be there. Floyd does ok early on but he would be trying to sucker punch or elbow Martinez by rd 5 due to the pressure he would be feeling. By rounds 8 or 9, Floyd would be telling Roger that he wants out.
