Here´s an interview in a spanish newspaper, if anybody want´s to translate it you are welcome:
http://www.as.com/mas-deporte/articulo/veo-factible-boxear-mayweather/20111018dasdaimas_1/Tes
He also said this funny comment: " i´ve never been scared except with Kelly Pavlik, he hit me in the first round and his arm seemed to me like an iron barr, i was just thinking not to look in panic"
Oscar called the shots when he fought Mayweather that's why it was 154, Mayweather is calling all the shots here.
Even though I'd hate it being @ 150 and honestly Mayweather shouldn't even bother if its there, its 10x better than fighting post plaster Margarito for a VACANT BELT @ 150.
If delahoya can do it(huge draw)
If pacquiao can do it( Huge draw)
Then Mayweather can do it (huge Draw)
Stupid fans want to hold Mayweather to another standard, while still calling him a duck a chicken a coward etc.
Why should a duck a coward and # 2 p4p have to fight Martinez at 154-160 , when pacquiao who is the all time best and fighter of the decade #1 p4p, can do catchweight after catchweight?
You idiots rank Pacquiao ahead of Mayweather in the all time rankings and the p4p rankings.
But Mayweather is the one who should never do catchweights?
Pacquiao is ranked #1 but it's ok for him to do catchweights?
If I was Mayweather I would make Martinez come in at 147-150 and then beat his weight drained a$$ just like Pacquiao and delahoya would have done.
Floyd won't get credit for beating Martinez at any weight so why bother.
If he goes to 160 and beats Martinez they will say that martinez was shot and old.
That Floyd waited until barker exposed martinez.
Why take the risk at 160 when your not getting credit for it anyway?
Stupid fans claim Mayweathers 42-0 record is overrated and that he fought bums his entire career.
What will be different if he beats Martinez? Nothing
Those same stupid fans and media would do what they have always done.
Give Floyd no credit.
Just maybe,,,,just maybe Floyd is the best but you idiots are too proud to say it.
Maybe Floyd is the real #1 p4p and you punks hold him to a higher standard.
You won't admit it though.
Why does floyd have to prove himself but the fighter of the decade doesn't?
In that case...I give Pacquiao no credit for beating a weight drained shot delahoya and Cotto, a weight drained shot Margarito, a paid off Clottey, an old Mosley, and now a fat old Marquez.
150 or no fight.
I disagree that Floyd should fight him at 150 but I agree with the rest...
There is this extremely high standard that Floyd is held to... The reason being is obvious though... The man's SKILLS are impeccable...
People usually pay to see knock outs because they are brutal, explosive, and entertaining... But I think when Floyd fights, people want to see at least 7 rounds of boxing... The Ricky Hatton and Diego Corrales fights were perfect because you get all of the boxing and then you get the KO!!
Floyds genuine fans who have floyds best interests at heart want floyd to fight at 160 to become middlweight champ. So to have it at 150 would be absolutely laughable.
It would say a lot about Floyd himself, in that he is doing something his fans criticise Pac for.
You aren't one of Floyd's genuine fans so why the **** would you even make that claim. His genuine fans (namely me) could give a **** all if he fights Martinez at 160 considering HE ISN'T A MW. It's more about the matchups him facing Martinez, who is number 2-3 P4P is what excites us. To be FAIR though it should be at 154, considering I hate catchweights this would be more than acceptable and credible for Floyd. First Martinez, then Khan, then Pac. He can go fight cab drivers to round out to 50 if he fights those 3 next.
This fight wouldn't be a catchweight. Mayweather didn't even catchweight ODLH. So I don't see him doing a catchweight with Martinez.
The fight would be a JMW (154lb) fight if Martinez was to fight Mayweather. Mayweather simply can't put on that much weight. I don't even think he came in JMW max limit for ODLH. I can't remember the exact number but I know he was less than 154.
Why would Floyd give him an extra advantage and give him extra 4 pounds to work with?
The offer is on 150.
No one calls the shots against Oscar. If Floyd could have it his way against Oscar who knows what the weight would have been. Oscar picked the weight-class.
Is comparing apples and oranges.
Floyd calls the shots here. But, it doesn't make sense to go for a higher weight then what it was given to him.
Unless if is to give Martinez less money.

No doubt but I think it would be a slap in the face to the haters if the fight was at 155 for the MW belt. People want the fight at 154, I say make it at 155 for the hell of it. You know it would infuriate the haters.
I wouldn't give Floyd credit for a MW victory or say he's a MW Champion IF he did win. However it would be a good win (legacy wise) and Martinez' MW belt is a small price to pay for the pay day he would get.
At the end of the day it won't happen though. 154 is fine and I don't agree with it below that.
Just fight at 154 for no title. Bradley ducking khan and coming of a win against Casamyor at ww reduces the significance of the bradley manny fight alot. At that point either manny takes the test or floyd fights khan and manny fights another blown up LW in Brandon Rios.
I tend to agree with you except if the MW title is on the line it should be at 160 max allowed for the weight class. Floyd and Sergio can fight at 154 and its legitimate. But if floyd wins the MW title at 154 then thats BS.
As always BIG DUNN ****IN HATES when a champion has to defend his title at less than the weight limit of a particular weight class.
Hopefully they fight at 154 and the MW title is not on the line OR fight at 160 for the MW title.

I don't think this fight will happen, but if it were to happen, the weigh would be at 154lb. IMO, Floyd would lose this fight simply because his punching power would be ineffective against Sergio Martinez.
You are absolutely correct. Too many fan boys are looking for excuses that are not there. People dishonestly like to forget that Martinez is in fact a career JMW that started out as a WW and is a small MW. He's actually shorter than the bytch Margarito and De La Hoya.
However, I think this fight should be at 154, yet I really think it would a great move for the fight to take place at 155 with the MW belt on the line. Bad move if it's anything less than 154 (assuming it will be a title fight).
Overall, it's still way to early to put any stock into this fight.

no way thats a catchweight. Sergio started at WW and was there for a good amount of time. Then he moved to 154 and settled in nice there for a very long time. He didnt move up because of weight problems. He moved up to get bigger fights. For every single MW fight he's had, he's weighed in at 157-158 pounds. 154 would definitely not be a catchweight and I think he can make 152 comfortably if you ask me

I doubt it, Mayweather's been selecting his opponents, fighting Martinez would be a step up in competition. He's taking a big gamble if the fight gets made and Floyd doesn't gamble his record, he doesn't want to let go of his "0". Floyd will never fight a real competition. So the chances of this fight getting done is "0" just like his record.
thats the exact same thing alot of people were saying before he fought mosley and a few people even said it about ortiz.
this is all moot since floyd is getting locked up
he said himself that hes spent millions on lawyers and since they still havnt settled it or got it thrown out than its pretty obvious hes gonna do time
Priceless. :lol1::lol1:
