I like me some B-hop that comes to fight but I felt he wanted a way out of the Dawson fight and when the opportunity arose he bailed out. Just my observation.
Back to the point of the thread. B-Hop seems like a tough guy mentally and known for rough house tactics, but whenever his adversaries spit venom back at him, with slight fouls,(Jones II, Calzaghe, Dawson) he turns into a big complainer and drama queen, thus creating the bully effect (pick on people then when they fight back his true identity as a hurt little boy is revealed). I bring this up because I thought he was acting like a pusssy when roy hit him low in the second fight and he acted like he just got shot and was highly dramatic and in the Dawson fight that side of Hopkins showed its ugly face again.
So is B-Hop a bully?
Looked like he quit, and to save face after the fight he blamed the ref saying the ref forced him to quit. I don't believe that for one bit. If Hopkins got back up and said he was fine to continue then the ref would let them fight still. It just looked like Hopkins wanted a way out. That was a ppv event, I don't care how ****ty it probably sold because people paid good money to watch him fight.
And from what I'm gathering his shoulder was just sore nothing really wrong with it. It's not like this was a Vitali/Byrd situation.
This right here, I am sorry am not buying this BS about the doctor report crap, hate me or not.
I agree with you except the fact that he quit... only he knows...
Maybe im wrong but Hopkins looks like Tyson when a opponent doesn't respect/fear him he's a totally different fighter.
really? elaborate pls.
If you are an athlete you know BHop did quit, he is finished in boxing, he fights ugly and holds a lot. Against other opponents I would think he should be penalized for holding too much-this is not wrestling or mixed martial arts, this is boxing Mr. Hopkins. Against Dawson, he got nudged a little and behave like a prima donna, everybody knows that that is his way out. He got hit by a punch and he probably realized he can't outsmart the guy in front of him. Chad looked big, strong and quicker than him, BHop looked old and can't land a single punch. After he lands on the canvass he must've thought that this is his opportunity to bail out and outsmart Chad but he didn't outsmart the third man in the ring. In the End I think BHop got what he deserved, down on the canvass wrestling style. CALL IT A DAY Mr. Hopkins and do boxing a favor.

Don't know about any smart champion doing that, one has to consider the event, it being on PPV. I do agree that Hopkins opt out due to the injury, and he knew the only thing he was gonna accomplish was handing Dawson the title. Does it justify it though? Not really...
Had it been a C level opponent I see Hopkins getting up. In all honesty, it's a tough one to touch, one could come up with so many conclusions.
Just hope we see a rematch and not PPV.
i dont think one has to consider the event, one has to consider one's own health before that, if I cant throw a punch with one hand due to a foul, I"m not giving you that advantage.
fuk that, do it again on regular hmo for 2 milly. i'd like to see a rematch as long as it happens reasonably soon.
i certainly do see other champions quitting that fight. floyd? fuk yea,
any smart champion would probably quit that fight with their lineal title on the line and a separated collarbone.
why was hop looking for a way out? he wasn't getting hit, the fight was at his pace....um oh yea, and he's a certified badass and not a quitter and has never quit before and is a legend atg style. he's been in MUCH tougher spots and had far far far tougher fights than a chad dawson., there was nothing physically greuling at all going on in that ring except that he was working over chad in close
chad is nothing like that and will never be.
if chad doesn't slam bhop on his shoulder, the fight goes on. PERIOD.

LOL i did to at first, but after watching the fight several times.... Dawson is at fault period....
Regardless if Dawson was at fault, I don't see other champions quitting that fight.
