I think the Super Six was set up to answer this very question... however Bute should have been in that competition, IMO.
If the super six winner loses to Bute (let's say in a narrow or SD) does that make him the best in the world? Not necessarily because he has fought sub standard opposition up until now. I think he would need to beat Froch and Ward to claim that spot.
Not only that in my opinion he hasn't even earned a shot at the winner. While they have been working their asses off fighting the best in the div. He's been taking it easy fighting bums. He should have to beat 1 or 2 top competitors to prove he even belongs.
I agree,Bute vs Dirrell would be interesting...

I agree: Mendy, Magee, Brinkley, Miranda, Andrade (2X), Zuniga, Johnson
Crap compared to:
Dirrell, Kesslar, Abraham, Taylor, Bika, Green, Pascal, Johnson
Ward is probably the top guy IMO. I got Ward, Dirrell and Froch as my top 3. Never really been a fan of Kessler even though he did beat Froch. I think Froch wins a rematch and has learnt his lesson.
Ward and Dirrell for me have the most potential. Bute needs to fight these guys to show where he's at.
I agree with the posters who say whoever wins Froch vs Ward is the best supermiddleweight in the world. But they also have to get past Bute to get that title.
No reason to debate. Just wait untill after Froch/Ward to make an opinion. I think Kessler is in the mix but I dont know about Bute. He looks good in the ring but Miranda and Librado shouldnt vault you to the top.
Who is the best supermiddleweight out there? how good is lucien bute? i think the best boxer is andre ward.
The Winner of the Ward vs. Froch fight = Andre Ward! End of discussion .....
