IMO fromstudying his fights
it seems to me that he is about the same fighter thatfought marquez the second time and david diaz at 135
it just that he looks great and dominates these bigger guys causee he has a great chhin and can take there punches and has the power of a middle weight plus the bigger guys cant see his punches comming
because of his chin and his power he doesnt hav those huge disavantages that a smaller fighter has when moving up
IMO he is definatey more seasioned now but its more of him haveing the right style to beat bigger guys than him improving significantly
guys like marquez and morales arep4p better fighters than the welters pac beat and they are able to handle his hand and foot speed were the big guys cant captalize on openings when pac lunges in and out with his attacks
if marquez wasnt 38 i would give him as much a chance as people did for the first two fights
and i think it will be a good fight even if pacs youth ultimatly stops marquez cause jmm is a warrior and his has the style and abilty to captalize on pacs mistakkes an counter him(even if heeventually gets blown out)
your guys thoughts??
he been fighting flat footed Brawlers during his rise...so a lot of people was DECEIVED INTO THINKING HE IMPROVED and is now "MORE OF A BOXER"
but Manny is still the same Brawler, lucky for him during his rise, Arum haven't been matching him up with BOXERS...just OTHER BRAWLERS
I thought about this as well. IMO not really that much since the second time they faught. Which is not to take anything away from him as he's always been great.

He dominates old has beens who are mostly weight drained
Pacfans believe the myth that he is a completely different fighter now, than he was then. When pressed on this issue, they often resort to the addition of the right hand as proof of his "evolution".
When anybody who's truly watched his career closely knows his right hand was there as early as the first Morales fight.
He's the same fighter he was then. Only bigger, and with more confidence and experience to draw upon.
What now, son?! What now!?
Hate to say I told you so, but I did. :lol1:
i always said manny is not that much better than the last time he fought marquez.the same problems manny had in the 2nd fight he stil had in the 3rd fight, the distance and the circling to the left kept manny from landing clean shots and the fact that marquez was waiting on pacquiao most of the time also gave manny problems
but still he did get better, landing more and avoiding a lot of those counters...

IMO I believe Manny has gotten better but it has also made him a more predictable fighter. Nacho was correct in saying that while Manny is a more refined and polished fighter today he also became more predictable.

Manny still can't cutting off the ring. I thought someone else on here said he made an excuse of having another leg cramp. There isn't anything humble about making excuses about your poor performance.
No he hasn't and I've never thought so. Looks like even Pac was believing the hype and when Marquez made him look like a young sparring partner he didn't know what to do.
actually pac did know what to do, he played it safe and did not risk to much, landing more and receiving less far cry from the first two fights were he got out punched and out landed...
You posts shows nothing but your own abundance of stupidity. Your flowery use of words amount to a hollow shell of verbosity, you moronic peasant.
If that wasn't bad enough, your actual reply that concerns boxing is even more useless. For the majority of those matches Pacquiao used his jab, jab straight left hand. Its what he does. Pacquiao uses that combo as often as BHOP clinches.
Why?
Its because its what he was trained to do. Its how he spars. Its how he fights. Any peasant who could watch Pacquiao's fights without ejaculating would see this for themselves, but they get caught up in the euphoria and just assume Manny never got hit and landed ALL of his punches.
Put the pooch stew down and get real, boy boy.
Pacquiao is as one dimensional as he was years ago.
The real difference between Pacquiao now and back then is that Pacquiao has maintained a FW's workrate at a WW's size. Which is where all the PED allegations stem from. PED's don't add power. They do however allow a fighter to train MUCH longer and reap benefits that a clean fight wouldn't be able to achieve without them.
Pacquiao does not not have better than average footwork.
Pacquiao does not have better than average defense.
Pacquiao does not have better average ability to work from behind a jab other than the ONE combo he repeatedly throws.
Pacquiao does not slip punches well.
Paquiao cannot even cut off a freakin ring to catch a 40 year old Mosley.
These are all basic skills in boxing, and Pacquiao cannot do any of them well.
What he does do well is dart in and dart out with his jab, jab straight left hand. Being able to do that for 12 rounds without getting tired is more than just a little impressive. So impressive in fact, that Pacquiao has called USADA corrupt and won't give blood to receive a $50 million check for a 36 minute workout.
Now, for a man who is having extreme money troubles with VisionQwest and Arum, you'd think that he'd gladly give a teaspoon of blood to rectify his finances, right?
RIGHT??????
We are talking about a man who was so poor that his father ate his dog. We can safely leave "pride" out of this conversation when discussing what Manny is willing to do to survive.
Check ANY Pacquiao fight. His bread and butter is and always will be the jab, jab straightleft hand. He's limited to that and only needs that because he can constantly use it against plodders and he doesn't get tired.
Everything else is just more 3rd world drivel.
This is wrong, just wrong.
Owning someone this hard can leave a lasting effect.

imho he is better as he is thinking more, although I hated it and wanted him to go wild in their and ko marquez but he also played it safe as punch stats confirms he got the better of the exchanges landing more and receiving less...
No he hasn't and I've never thought so. Looks like even Pac was believing the hype and when Marquez made him look like a young sparring partner he didn't know what to do.
A young sparring partner with no clue would land 38 more punches than Marquez in a fight?
Manny didn't look very good tonight, but let's not get carried away...
Pac is definitely stronger than Cotto pound for pound. Just ask Mosley and Margarito. Cotto landed everything he could against Margs but didn't break his face like Pacquiao did. Cotto landed nearly the same amount of punches on Mosley as Pacquiao did on Mosley yet wasn't able to knock him down. Do you think Pacquiao would've decisioned Malignaggi like Cotto did?
We're not talking about Pacquiao at the lightweight division, we are talking about Pacquiao at welterweight. If you can't see that he is much, much stronger now than he was back then you obviously need help with your eyesight.
Manny is stronger then Cotto? GTFO, Im tired of all this Manny and his punching power bullcrap. Manny's last KO was a no defense Ricky Hatton and his last KO before that was Jorge Solis back in 07. Why people act like Manny is KO'ing fighters left and right? Manny's punching power is average. His punching speed is what makes him win. His overall boxing skills aren't the best either. He got outboxed 3 times by JMM and doesn't stand a chance in hell to outbox Floyd. The only way I see Manny beating Floyd is by getting lucky and catching Floyd and KO'ing him which I don't see happening.
