All he does when the ref and Doctor ask him is point at his shoulder like to say "I am hurt" he never said "yes" all he did was point at his shoulder. That is no sign of someone that he wanted to continue no matter what Hopkins says.
He actually did say "Yeah, with one arm" but he said it in a totally sarcastic way that made the ref think he couldn't/didn't want to fight.
Precisely.
That's how I see it.

Actually the ref asks if he can continue and Hopkins replies "with one hand, yeah" and then the ref replies "no you can't continue" and stops the fight. The ref stopped the fight not Hopkins.
I think when he's saying "With one arm yeah" he's implying he obviously cannot continue with one arm and doesn't expect to continue.
Otherwise he wouldn't immediately say 'It's popped out!!" straight after saying it. Again to further imply he cannot continue.
He also said "I can't" a little before that.
Hopkins didn't want to continue.
if hopkins wanted to fight he wouldnt have said anything about the injury. he knows the ref stops a fight due to injury.
and for the TKO victory dont you have to throw a punch in order to win via TKO? and if that stupid ass ref thought it was a TKO why didnt he start counting once he was down? its a joke. freak show

If the doctor asks if he can continue, he knows that they won't let him go with one arm (or with one eye, or whatever). Hopkins knows this. If he really wanted to continue he would have. He didn't, he wanted out and took the first opportunity that came across. Embarrassing.
It reminded me of boxers/fighters telling the doctor they can't see because of whatever foul but they want to continue, knowing perfectly well the doctor can't let you go on if you can't see.
It was clear as water and embarrassing to watch.
WTF is wrong with you people the doctor asked him if he could continue and Hopkins said yes with one hand and the doctor said no you can't. What is so hard to understand?
Followed by 'It's Popped out!!'
He was clearly not overly eager to continue.
What he should have done is get to his feet and say 'yes I want to continue let's go'
Hopkins was right. The ref asked him if he wanted to continue to act like his shoulder was hurt and he said yes. Hopkins didn't lie, he did say he wanted to continue.
Hopkins fans can say what they want but any boxing fan knows that there are just certain things you don't say or do because they will by key words for the ref to stop the fight.
1. I can't see
2. Not walk to him when he ask
3. Tell him the wrong number of fingers
4. Not respond to him properly when you are hurt
And there are several other things.
You can't point out an injury, complain about it and say you can't move it without the ref stopping the bout. B-hop is a vet and he knew better.
I mean lets be real, that's like say "ref I broke my ankle and can't stand...but yes I'll hop my way to victory".
Pat Russell told B-hop and Chad that his number one concern is his fighters safety and that he wants him to respond to him properly to let them know they are ok. This was during the prefight discussion played during Linares vs DeMarco.
If Hopkins would have just not said anything Pat Russell would have gave him time to recover.....but Hopkins was talking too much and gave Russell no choice but to stop the fight.
all of those have been used by many other boxers, including Evander Holyfield. Throwing someone down is worse than all of those in my opinion.
I'm not saying its good to be a dirty fighter. I'm just saying dirty tactics are a part of boxing and always have been. However, throwing someone off their feet is going too far. Thats just my view.
Cheating is a part of boxing now?
So what are rules for?

You guys have no respect for Bernard Hopkins, you act like his career started last night. This is a guy who has had alot of rough fights, and has been a fighting a LONG time. Why would a guy like Hopkins want to quit? Hes always been obsessed with winning and getting credit from people who doubted him. I think the referee called the fight off too soon, he should have given the situation 5 minutes to see what would happen.
You act like this is the first time Hopkins has done something like this. Hopkins was yelling to fight, the closest he said was "Yes, with one arm" when the ref asked if he wanted to continue. He was acting like he was too hurt to continue, and had no intentions of doing so.
Stop making things up dumbass.
