Comparing Shane Mosley, even a shot Shane Mosley, to Darren Barker is an incredible fail to begin with.
Then you add in the fact Pacquiao didn't get hit much, didn't lose a round, and wasn't challenged at all by the fight while Martinez did lose rounds, did get messed up, and struggled badly the first few rounds, and this is a ridiculous comparison that makes no sense.
I've ALWAYS maintained Martinez was overrated Pavlik and Williams were TAYLOR made for this guy especially Williams who was use to beating on smaller men
Martinez is fast and powerful but he's VERY one dimensional and is easy for a technician to figure out (Mayweather Hopkins Ward) types
I knew it was a matter of time before this guy was exposed just didn't think it would be by a British Journey men
What does that say about Pacquiao who looked bad against a shot Shane Mosley?
This thread proves that any criticism aimed at Pac is through jealousy and paranoia!
How on earth is it the same and comparable? Give me strength! Pac dominates every round winning by large decision, outclassing SSM. SSM says Pac is the greatest thing since sliced bread and truly is the p4p king, yet you are comparing it to Barker and Sergio?
Barker says he should or could have beaten him if he done things a bit differently. Barker won rounds against Sergio and busted his nose.
Tell us how it is comparable and why did you compare it? Oh i know you think with your heart, rather than your brain, just like all the other people who criticise Pac.
There was rumours tht Martinez wasn't training like he normally does because he didn't think much of barker. I don't think u could find a fighter who hasn't had a bad night in the ring but the good/great ones still win which is what both pac/Martinez both did
dude wanted to talk shit about Pac
instead of just doing it, he whipped up a transparent agenda for a "topic"
this Footwork777 guy has been doing this since he came here
This is Footwork777? No surprise here.. shoulda known when he had Inglewood as his location. :lol1:

Damn, is that who it is? Footwork? He got me with the name change. I can't keep up with these name changes. If I would have known, I would have never clicked on this thread.

desperate times call for desperate measures.
That is what this reminded me of. A Bushbaby thread, with the same type of stupid reasoning and logic.

no he didn't put up a fight because pacquiao nearly ice him in the third round and after that he literally ran and refused to engage. did you even watch the fight? he was shot against mayorga, mayweather and mora but he still put up a fight and tried to win. he got clocked hard and pac took his soul and made him turn into morrade hakkar.
We just have to agree to disagree. Imo Mosley never intended to try to win the Pac fight and he just showed up to collect his check. Everybody knew Shane was done going into that fight.

Pac was just merciful to Mosley because they were friends. Pac could have KOed Mosley at any round he wanted to.
.......OK. This thread is becoming more and more amusing.
Yes Martinez is overrated by some and underrated by others.
I like Martinez, I think really highly of him. I'm not one of his Johnny Comelately fans. I been following the guy ever since Oscar begged the WBC to remove him from his mandatory. So I know what the man is capable of.
I just think it's an idiotic way of thinking that either both have to be overrated or neither are overrated. If it's one or the other then it gets labeled as hypocrisy. Which is ridiculous. But, that is what the TS is pretty much saying. I just don't get it.
Manny should learn how to cut off the ring. Mosley is hardly an elusive defensive genius yet he had Manny befuddled and frustrated. That fight just exposed Manny's shortcomings. Shane didn't put up a fight because he was shot and couldn't pull the trigger, that's why Team Pacquiao took the fight. They never would've fought Shane if they thought he was a threat.

You're making this more complicated than it is. Sergio is getting called overrated by some after a KO victory, while some of those same people didn't call Pac overrated after his performance against Mosley, that is hypocritical. Btw, I don't judge fighters based off of 1 fight, that's not logical.
But, that's not being hypocritical at all.
What's not logical is saying that either both have to be overrated or neither has to be overrated which is what you're doing.
One can say after Pac-Mosley that Pac is overrated and that same people after Martinez-Barker can say that Martinez is NOT overrated or maybe even underrated. Without being hypocritical.
Because, it depends on who's doing the rating and where they're rating them at.
But, there is no hypocrisy in that. Where is one being rated, what is the opinion of both...Who's doing the rating?
Being overrated and underrated is a matter of opinion. One can have a different opinion and not be a hypocrite about it.
After the Barker fight I feel that Sergio is the greatest Argentinian fighter of all time. Then I'm more than likely overrating him. While if I say that Pac isn't a top 10 P4P fighter then I'm probably underrating him.
Point is, that it depends on who's doing the rating. And, what the rating is to be considered overrated and underrated.
It's a very illogical reason to act as if either both have to be overrated or neither just because of bad showings. Which is what you're doing.
Really there is no hypocrisy.
